Here’s what gets on my nerves:
- people that loudly face time/talk on the phone while they walk at a snail’s pace on the treadmill. I do not need to hear about your friend’s baby daddy drama in detail while I’m trying to work out. - people that wander around the gym not doing anything (sit on a machine, stand by the water fountain texting, walking for three minutes on a treadmill, wandering in and out of the locker room, then finally leaving). just stay home! - this has happened to me several times: I approach a machine that looks unoccupied and out of nowhere someone appears and says ‘I’m using that’. Turns out they are doing a circuit routine and monopolizing 3-4 machines, all in different areas of the gym. Let’s hear yours! |
People who grunt really loudly. Yeah, the weight is too heavy for you if you have to loud out that loud a noise ever time.
People who get on treadmill next to me when there are a LOT free. Then said person either a.) farts b.) reeks of sweat or c.) talks on the phone. People waiting for the adductor who sit and watch me closely as I open and close my legs. I know it's a public place, but no matter how much you want this machine, it is creepy. |
When you are working out with great effort, very aware of the fact that you suck and are in bad shape, and some sweaty dude walks by insisting on making eye contact with you, totally breaking your concentration and making you suddenly self conscious. |
Guys, just go in and do your work out, and don't pay attention other people!
|
Sorry, but when you fart stink or make noises you are offending my senses and my neurological system cannot ignore you. Put on deodorant, go fart in a corner and STFU when you lift weights. |
I mean, sure. When I used to do bikram, I hated it when people came in who had BO because it was all amplified in that hot room. But some of these things--like wandering around not really working out--aren't things that should bother other people. |
How can someone make you make eye contact with them. Just don't look his way. |
YES |
Yeah this isnt a thing. |
I've spent a lot of time in gyms, and I can't say that anyone has ever annoyed me there. And I'm easily annoyed.
Oh wait, there was ONE time. One dude at VIDA Gallery Place was doing barbell snatches, but dropping the bar apparently from like a foot up and grunting loudly, making the entire floor shake. THAT was obnoxious as F. |
The heavy sweater in spin class. He's producing so much water, there are waves of it!
Stinky people - from BO or farts, or too much cologne. So gross. And idiots who take work calls on the elliptical and then talk really loudly. Go outside!! |
People who bring their toddlers into the workout area and let them shriek and run everywhere.
People who talk on their phones. |
People who stand in the pool.
There's only 4 lanes in our gym pool. There's almost always more than 4 people that want to use it. And often someone is taking up a lane literally just standing there. It's bizarre. |
People who sweat all over the machine and then just walk away when they are finished without cleaning it off. |
This is hilarious. I feel self conscious on that machine too, even when no one is watching (but they MIGHT watch). |
