S/O of grocery store post - annoying things people do at the gym

OMG I can top that...

People who not only sweat all over the machine, but leave puddles all around on the floor. DH and called him "sweaty guy" and the staff had worse name for him since they were stuck cleaning up after him. He looked like he was melting on the machine.

I don't care what people do unless I can't avoid hearing or seeing it, or it's just gross. So, people who don't wipe off the machines after using them, people who talk on the phone, people who grunt unnecessarily loud. Or people who are rude--using a machine longer than the posted time limit, people who claim that they are "using" more than one machine at a time, etc.

Complaining that people smell like sweat at a gym is like complaining that the bakery smells like cake.

Geez

Have sex in the locker rooms

Men who wear short shorts to lift weights, and when they're laying back on the bench, you can see up the legs of their shorts and see their balls or penis. Sometimes you have to move to get a better view and confirm it, but most of the time it's obvious. Disgusting.

This has become a problem at my gym. Creeps me out, but I'm afraid to say anything about it because I don't want to be accused of being a homophobe and end up getting banned from the gym. But its gross. I have zero desire to shower when I know that some guy is getting a BJ behind the shower curtain in the next shower stall.

Completely agree! Also (as a woman) I hate seeing women walking around with tiny spandex with their ass cheeks hanging out. How is that even comfortable to work out in?

+1 or doing it in the tanning bed rooms.

I got the thread about the grocery store but where is this "gym" place you all keep going to where people are sweating and farting and having sex in the bathroom? I've never been to one. What are they for?

Bring their autistic 16-24 (approx) son to a Bodypump class. And not early, so they can appropriately set up with adequate space and talk to the instructor.

It's simply not appropriate as he stands there dead center in the room doing absolutely nothing, but also fumbling with weights in a fast moving class.

I know you as mom just want to expose your son to try new things - taking him to a weight training class with fast moving reps without any guidance, dead center of a crowded room, is dangerous and highly inappropriate.

It’s the DCUM gym of exaggeration and make believe. And the best part is no monthly fees.

Men should also wear tshirts and never tanks.

The person who grunts and moans and exhales really loudly when no one else is making any noise. The instructor kept glancing over because she thought this person was having trouble.

If you have to move to “confirm” it, ir sounds like you want to see it! Just don’t move, don’t confirm it, & stop being voyeristic then complaining about it!
