I applaud you OP, for making thought provoking commentary. It’s true, it’s not empowering women it is in fact degrading. Degrading to see a woman reduced to slabbing herself like a piece of meat for slaughter. Successful and accomplished men (ones that haven’t been sexually abused) don’t need to do this for attention.

Women who take control of their bodies and sexuality is empowering. They are dancing on their terms, selecting outfits on their terms. Women are programmed to see women who are taking control of their sexuality as degrading. Do you think Shakira or JLO felt degraded at all. They did not do this for men. Maybe think about it from a different perspective, especially when it involves women of color.
