I want any Democrat or even a moderate Republican (if they exist anymore) - really anyone besides Trump would be a relief. It's as simple as that.

Larry Hogan

I would love Hogan to switch sides and run as a dem. I think he would carry the dems and the non trump reps.

I agree.

He will never do this if he ever wants to go back to the R party and run for POTUS as a R.

Ohhhh no it's not - not in evangelical circles. And I don't think Trump surrogates will be able to stay away from the issue. Trump/MAGA already have a problem with women. This is not going to help. Can you imagine Donald Trump choking out the words that's it's perfectly fine for women to make the choice not to have children. Not to mention the evangelical reaction to that. Very rock and a hard place position here.

? Evangelicals wouldn't vote for a Dem anyways, so moot point.

Not a moot point. Trump has a problem with women. If you have Trump surrogates out there attacking Kamala Harris for being childfree you aren't turning out women who don't want to vote Dem but are on the fence for the GOP. And if the GOP/Trump try to distance themselves from this POV you start losing the evangelicals. Trump has already made the hard line abortion folks angry.

By and large this election isn't about winning large swaths of voters over. It's about maintaining your 2020 support and undermining the support for your opponent.

Let me see if I get this straight: Evangelicals will be stumping for Trump by saying that Harris has never had any children of her own and doesn't know what it's like to juggle being a real mother with working, while Trump has never changed a diaper in his life, and never had to try to juggle parenting and working. And that will win over on the fence women voters?

Did I get this right?

Any women with any self respect would support Harris after such an attack.

Trump in 2016 acknowledged this inability to juggle is what caused his divorces.

Very impressed with how the progressive wing dealt with this. They knew the Dems would take it out on them if another candidate lost, and they knew the Dems would never advocate for Joe to leave if they started yapping about it, so what did they do? They stfu, and AOC gave Biden a stunning amount of praise when asked. They knew they couldn't push for Joe to leave, and it worked.

I’m progressive and am very proud of AOC, Kaine and Warren right now. Solidarity.

I hope you're equally as excited as voting for Newsome cause that's who you're going to get. Not Harris

Wow, that would have Kimberly Ann Guilfoyle rolling over in her coffin. She could have been FLOTUS, but she chose the dark side.

Newsome doesn’t like women who scratch their crotches. He threw that fish back in.

I think they screwed her. Her main project a super contentious issue that no one has been able to truly fix in decades as the border czar? I think she was set up for failure and that's extremely unfortunate given where we are right now.

she didn't go to the border ONCE!

And in fact, Pete beat Biden in Iowa until the political machine forced him out of the race. I’d fully endorse a Buttigeig/Mark Kelly ticket

You and maybe five other people.

Buttigeig isn’t happening.

Kelly would be formidable.

Have the media pushed out there 'Kamala is great' articles yet? They tried it in 2020 and she came in last place. They should probably do a basement campaign again.

That’s actually a choice that I think makes sense.

I’d love if Pete were selected as VP (him debating Vance would be must see tv) but add homophobia on top of racism and sexism and we’d be really screwed

Oh stop with that nonsense. Pete has been a lousy secretary of transportation and acknowledging that isnt homophobia.

From my vantage point he’s actually got a lot done at DOT despite the actors in his space. You can’t blame Pete for the failures of Boeing

Well, this totally steals Trump's thunder and will be the focus of the news until the DNC convention. Totally ruins their strategy to date. And now the Democratic nominee can distance themselves from whatever unpopular policies there have been under Joe.

Both things can be true. She was set up to fail and failed even worse than planned.

People also Love saying that young people hate Harris. Name a presidential candidate that young people overwhelmingly support that wouldn't immediately lose.

? Young people I know love Harris.

She's very unpopular with young people and progressives because of her prosecution record. I don't know a single person who thinks of Kamala other than "Copmala"

IDK. Just talked to my kids. One attending Oberlin (and voting in Ohio, BTW). And my more moderate kid at a VA State school. Both strongly favor Harris over Biden and think more of Gen Z turns out for her vs sitting at home. (Neither think There is a world in which Gen Z turns out for Trump. It’s turn out for Harris or stay home in their minds).

I’d talk to Gen Z before making sweeping assumptions.

The "cop" thing was from Bernie Bros.

That's actually a brilliant point. Thanks PP.

I hadn’t thought of it either but good point.

You guys are so scared. Love to see it. The side by side of Trump and her will be enough. Just like the Nixon/JFK debate

Yeah, no Dem is going to be able to run from Biden’s miserable record unless he or she is a total outsider centrist. Harris? She has his mess weighing on her shoulders.

Kamala Harris was complicit in a massive coverup to hide and deny the fact that Joe Biden was not capable of discharging the duties of the office.

She also was the the border czar during the worst border crisis in American history.

Democrats are just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
