Wow,I am blown away that he would be selling crap and making money off of breast cancer--it's revolting. |
And now featuring on fb, another gay comedian!
Does she deal with anyone who is not gay? And the shilling is getting frantic at this point. |
Jen’s last post would have been better if it ended with: Here’s to the next generation. May they find contentment in their hearts and confidence within themselves, so that they never have to sell vag lube on social media to pay for their next Botox shots.

Right? I don't understand it. This is a D- list celebrity. |
It's because she's achieved a modicum of social media success and WE all remember here from back when she was not as popular, and selling herself as a Christian mom, super real, etc. I follow this thread because I find her so annoying now, so phony and stupid. And then when she added that gross Tyler guy, it breathed new life into the thread. So, that's why the 513 pages, I guess? |
Yet, here you are. |
I read comments here because I am intrigued by influencers in our world, how social media impacts lives--in particular I am interested in the arc of women Christian writer's careers, and how several gained notoriety within a Christian audience, then rejected Christianity(I am Christian). I count Rachel Hollis, Glennon Doyle, and Jen in this group.
Fame, spirituality, hubris-- these things, when blended, interest me. So there you have it. |
NP. So this is basically a hate thread? Hope you guys have better things going on in your lives. |
I care about the Jen Hatmaker brand. I was happy to follow her progression even though I’m disappointed in how much she’s fallen off since dating Tyler.
She’s gives so much free content. You don’t have to pay a cent. |
Jen is just one of many predatory, gross, transparently greedy and scheming constant shape shifter's who are utterly convinced that they have the answers to life's big questions and to all the things but who are really complete, unselfware dumbasses. The blind leading the blind.
She's one of many but for many of us she's the most interesting as we've watched the slow rolling trainwreck for close to a decade. |
How can anyone not find it at least a little fascinating how one person can go from being on the a gospel cable talk show talking lovingly about Jesus to a decade later selling vag lube on Instagram? |
+1 It is especially interesting to me as I live in the Austin area and I am surrounded by mommy/hipster evangelical Christian influencers. |
I searched for this forum ("Jen Hatmaker" and "shill" were my search words) because about two years ago I began wondering if I was the only one who had noticed how much her platform had transitioned to her selling crap. That, juxtaposed with her constant vacations, was ticking me off. Not relatable at all. I was also disenchanted with much of the things she posted. (Her children are NOT her roommates! Ever! Even if they're 40 and she's 65! I would be so hurt if my mom referred to me as her roommate to people who know what our relationship really is.) It's a relief to find that I'm not alone. I don't agree with all the criticism here, but for the most part I do. Girlfriend needs to get a real job. I keep expecting her to come clean and fess up to what's really going on in her life. I guess that's the only reason I still follow her. That, and now my first thought is to check the forums whenever she posts something that I KNOW will get some juicy comments here!
Also, I fell for one of her shills. I bought an Able bag. One and 1/2 year later, it's fraying on the handles and it doesn't clean up well with leather conditioner. I regret that purchase. Never again! LOL. |
And let’s not forget the hilariously odd group of Jen’s side characters and various “ride or dies” like her ex Biker Brandon, Texas Barbie, Tray with an A, and Pastor Hat? |
And all her BEST FRIENDS EVER. All 45 of them. |
