Just arrived at my parents' house; we offered to host, but we inisited that we travel to them. Fine, fair enough.
There are no sheets on any of the guest beds (again, fine), but there are also no clean sheets/not enough sheets at all! When I asked my mom about it, she said she threw a bunch away and was going to buy new ones on Black Friday. So...no sheets for us tonight, or tomorrow, unless I can go out early on Black-Friday-on-Thursday; maybe Target will be open? |
| Is that your mom's way of saying "stay at a hotel, honey"? |
| It's only 7pm. Can't you go to Target now? |
Sorry, but no. We did that once and she moped about it. I'd be happy to do it any time (the kids love the pool), but she much prefers we stay with her. |
I just drove 11 hours. A trip to Target (30 minutes from my mom's house) is not in the cards for me tonight. |

There are so many things wrong with this. I do not drive anywhere over two hours a way. Full stop. Why can't you Postmates the sheets? You can postmates anything. |
| Is your mom okay with you sleeping without sheets on the bed? Is she embarrassed about this at all? |
I can top that—AND fluffy toilet seat covers. |
|
Blankets, tablecloths whatever will work. Cover the mattress and have something to cover up with.
You can get sheets when you can get to the store. Hopefully she remembered the turkey
|
| Does she have sleeping bags that you can lay on the bed? Those will work. |
That’s what we are doing. (This why Target is so not happening!)

we're in our 50's and we have driven 14 hours straight before. Not fun but not exactly unheard of either. If Op is just a tiny bit resourceful they will figure out a way to get through the night w/o a sheet set. Some things are an emergency and some things are not. This goes firmly into the roll with it category. |
i'm glad you found a solution. Former Scout by any chance? |
