Do married people really get hit on as much as it appears on this board?

I'm married and relatively young. No one has expressed an interest in me for at least a few years, since I began dating and married my DH.

I can't imagine a normal guy propositioning a clearly married woman.

While never married, I was engaged before and just having that ring on my finger seemed to attract men who'd compliment my ring, say he was a lucky man, then proceed to ask me out.

Nope, it's the other way around. Married people are the aggressors on dating sites

OP, maybe only one man is attracted to you...and you found him.

I think sometimes people *think* they are being hit on when people are just being friendly, sucking up for something at work, etc.

I have a friend who - from the stories she's told me - has been hit on at least a dozen times in the past few years. She is decently attractive, but very very tall and very, very broad. She honestly makes it sound like all of these people are attempting to woo her from her husband and children and ... I can't see that actually being the case.

So, I think sometimes (and maybe a lot of times) ... it's a case of mixed up signals.

Then you need to find out why nobody else is interested in you before your DH does.

This...lots of married creepers out there both in cyberspace and real space who are aggressive toward unmarried and married alike. For these people, it's like being married makes them even more bold, and everyone is fair game.

I'm 37 and a happily married woman. I get hit on usually at least once a month when I'm out and about, for ladies night at the bar etc. I'm attractive but nothing amazing to look at either. I thought this would have stopped by my early 30s, but nope. I'll enjoy it while it lasts

Never in my experience

i saw a big drop-off once i put my engagement ring on, but have to say it picks up in dark rooms where the ring is not visible. Once I even got hit on while 8 months pregnant (while at a dark club).... the guy was so mortified when he saw my belly.

Can you give examples of what you mean when you say “hit on?” Like flirting or directly propositioning etc?

If you are going to bars at night without a guy, it’s no surprise that you are being hit on.

I get hit on and I am old, married, wear a ring. Usually by men young enough to be my kid, 30ish. It is weird. At gas stations while pumping gas, waiting rooms, supermarket, etc.
