Trump reportedly called off the helicopter search and rescue operation, explaining “I like pilots who don’t get shot down.”

That's what happens when we assasinate the people involved in the backchannel negotiation.

We did not assassinate them; Israel did.

We control 100% of the airspace. But the 0% is fighting back.

that was disproven

They are talking about it now on MS NOW, so not disproven.

After Trump said their air defenses had been decimated.

He makes us look so idiotic. All of our potential enemies must be gleeful.

If we can’t dump Trump right now, could we at least replace Kegsbreath with someone who is qualified?

I am serious.

With whose weapons? With whose backing?

But shouldn’t we be concerned? It is not as much a dig but a bold threat of US destruction. Trump has met his match by swatting the most machismo nation.

I feel so horrible for any other pilots-is it only one other? Apparently the US is offering "rewards" for their return but who in their right mind would trust the US?

The Iranian government is.

Imagine if your child had that job, and Trump is not even mentioning it.

While the Iranian news is broadcasting offers of rewards for whoever finds him! 😢

The war has no perimeter. The chain of command has no objectors. And the next phase has no one left to stop it.”

They are currently reporting on MSNOW that this General kept telling Kegsbreth what he could not do legally and tactically. Kegsbreth wants fealty. Reminds you of anyone. Remember Kegsbreth never achieved the rank above Major and was washed out. He is more than likely envious and is getting some revengeful payback.

Trump taught him that loyalty is more important than competence.

Let’s see how that works during a complex military operation.

When the hell will those SUPPOSEDLY patriotic Republicans in Congress start providing oversight of this $ pit of a Federal agency?

Iran reports it has apprehended one of the pilots. The other pilot is still being pursued.

Has Trump gone on tv to call them losers yet, or does he need to wait for confirmation of their capture or death?

No trump is still talking about how Israel and the US own the sky over Iran. The truth is very few missions are over Iran. We stand off and fire long range missiles. Now we have depleted the stocks of those and have to use glide bombs. This means we have to actually go into Iranian airspace.

The US can not afford to continue to lose planes at this rate. We are losing about a plane a day and this does not include all the predator class drones that have been shot down. Yesterday Iran hit US pilot quarters is Saudi Arabia. A lot of wounded reported. No word on if they were pilots. One would hope the US military would have bunkers in a major base established 80 years ago. Does not look like we did.

The US military has been asleep for 20 years and it is showing.

Trump's Israel-driven boondoggle is getting Americans killed and revealing to the world how weak the military has become of decades of neglect. It's tragic.
Just as Russia's campaign in Ukraine showed its weakness!

The parallels are disturbing, and we are stupid to not have recognized the (very obvious) lessons.

We keep following Russia's military mistakes. Russia went into Afghanistan and left defeated. We went into Afghanistan and left defeated.

This is looking a lot like the 1956 Suez War.

Where's Lindsey? Is he still sashaying on the right-wing news circuit, talking about how Trump needs to escalate to troops on the ground? I have not heard from him lately. Freaking bastard coward.

Yep f-15 and A-10 shot down. Looks like the A-10 made it out to sea and bailed out. Two helicopters also hit but were able to land.

Two U.S. warplanes shot down; search ongoing in Iran for 1 missing crew member
An F-15 fighter jet and an A-10 attack plane were lost to hostile fire. Two Black Hawk helicopters also were hit, injuring the crews, before safely returning to their base, officials said.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2026/04/03/f-15-crash-iran-missing/

If the Iranians know where the 2nd pilot is or have captured him/her, they may keep quiet to draw more Americans in to the fight. The Iranians will just set up more anti aircraft systems and kill zones.

It takes a lot to take down an A-10. Rescue helicopters will be toast in that environment. Remember this is a long way along from our bases. We have to refuel most of the aircraft involved and we lost a lot of air tankers. I could see the Iranians hitting US bases where we are staging for this rescue.

The US can not have this type of attrition in aircraft. It will take years to replace these aircraft.
