No trump is still talking about how Israel and the US own the sky over Iran. The truth is very few missions are over Iran. We stand off and fire long range missiles. Now we have depleted the stocks of those and have to use glide bombs. This means we have to actually go into Iranian airspace.

The US can not afford to continue to lose planes at this rate. We are losing about a plane a day and this does not include all the predator class drones that have been shot down. Yesterday Iran hit US pilot quarters is Saudi Arabia. A lot of wounded reported. No word on if they were pilots. One would hope the US military would have bunkers in a major base established 80 years ago. Does not look like we did.

The US military has been asleep for 20 years and it is showing.

Trump's Israel-driven boondoggle is getting Americans killed and revealing to the world how weak the military has become of decades of neglect. It's tragic.

The parallels are disturbing, and we are stupid to not have recognized the (very obvious) lessons.

Our military is not weak. We just aren't omnipotent. The problem is that Hegseth has crappy tactics and strategy.

We could easily defeat anyone if it's done smart. With Hegseth in charge he just throws our weapons at his opponent.

DP. No the US military is built on very expensive weapons systems that can not be replaced. The loss of 5-7 USAF refueling tankers, an AWACS, early warning radars, etc shows our vulnerabilities. These losses have really impacted what the US can do.

Why was an AWACS and refueling tankers parked out in the open? How stupid does someone have to be to do this after what the Ukrainians did to Russia. Iranian drones/missiles hit the airbase and taking out billion dollar radars? Then 5 tankers were hit and after that you leave an AWACS on the same base out in the open? Sounds like a competent operation.

The US military are unprepared to fight a modern war. Our ground troops will get crushed if they invade Iran. The US military has not trained against drones. We should have paid attention to what is going on in the Ukraine Russia war.

If US ground troops are deployed we will see videos of US soldiers running from Iran drones. Ukraine post similar videos of drones chasing down Russians.

It's not hard when the military head is an incompetent, unqualified, narcissistic, alcoholic. Nobody will be able to convince me that Drunk Petey is not sipping from a flask about now. The stress is getting the best of him.

A French container ship was allowed to pass the Straight of Hormuz. Another, co-owned by Japan and Oman, was also able to pass. Previously, ships allowed to pass only if they were from Iran-friendly nations, and even so, at considerable risk. It is understood that both French and Japanese ships paid the required fee, but not known whether it was in Yuan or not.

This is a sign that Iran has established a systematic approach to monetizing the Straight and is willing to take business from anyone who isn't actively raining missiles on them.
