To you, what's the bottom of the "elite" colleges?

They don't have the top 5 amount of research funding.

They don't have the top 5 number of Nobel Laureates.

You see, you can pick any kinds of factors into comparison and get different top 5's.

So? No one says they are top 5 on everything. Harvard and MIT are in the top 5 of Nobel Laureates. Stanford, Yale, and Princeton are not that far behind. They also produce outstanding research. All other top schools use binding decisions to lock students yet don't have as high the yield rate. There isn't much debate about HYPSM being top 5.

Not sure how PP concluded there isn’t much debate about Stanford being in T5, when in fact, many Stanford students agree with US News’ #6 ranking.

Yes, it's absolutely rationale to believe that the early admissions policy for a given university's undergraduate college is the one and only measure of its merit. Graduate schools and institutional research do not exist because they are utterly trivial matters.

HYP is the only legitimate equivalent to UK’s Oxbridge.

Once you start adding a sports school like Stanford and a technology school like MIT, pretty soon you’ll have people from Tufts demanding it should be HYPSMT.

HYP and Oxbridge are the only world class WASPs.

This is so lame, who gives a flying eff about WASPs

WASPs are too cultured to engage in lowly matters like science and technology. Stanford and MIT are not elite schools.

Most of the nation has no idea what Hopkins, UChicago, Brown even are, let alone how insanely difficult it is to get into Duke, Dartmouth, Cornell.

I think you nailed it.

Elites:
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Stanford
MIT

Just missed the cut:
Columbia
UPenn
Caltech
Chicago
Duke
Northwestern
Dartmouth
Brown
Cornell
Hopkins
Berkeley

US News dropped Stanford to #6 bc it’s a sports school that gives full scholarships. No “merit” scholarships at elite schools where they have the pick of the best students.

I think this is the best description

What a shame! You think you can continue stealing other's hard work like you did. You'll be further outcast in every major area and you'll soon be history.

No, sports are more important than academics. Therefore giving full scholarships to athletes is an indication of being elite. After all, HYP originated from a football association.

Soon? WASPs are a complete non-issue, irrelevant in this day and age. Have been for decades.

HYP have not been WASP schools for a long time. Princeton and Yale have been dominated by Stanford and MIT in terms of top students' favorite destinations. Better bring your WASPness crap to somewhere else cuz it stinks.

WASPs are too cultured (incompetent) to engage in lowly (intelligent) matters like science and technology.

Translated it for you.
