At that point, those 2nd gen illegals are beginning to compete with legal immigrants and with citizens. The laws of supply and demand dictate inexorably that as the supply of better skilled workers increased, regardless of immigration status, competition among them for jobs will increase, depressing wages. Eliminating illegal workers results in a smaller workforce, and less competition for employment. Employers seeking employees have to become more attractive in order to compete successfully.
