He said it at a Catholic college. I'm curious if you think people should be allowed to have conservative views.

DP I'm curious if you think someone expressing their views should be shielded from criticism of those views.

No chance of that. He thinks he's God's appointed messenger of "hard truths" (see the following sentence from his speech).

"It is safe to say that over the past few years, I have gained quite the reputation for speaking my mind. I never envisioned myself, nor wanted, to have this sort of a platform, but God has given it to me, so I have no other choice but to embrace it and preach more hard truths about accepting your lane and staying in it."

I think these cowards who are sharing what they like to call “hard truths” are just sharing “here’s why White men are at the top of the heap.” It’s never a hard truth. It’s just them wishcasting.

"As a woman, God has given me the gift of being an amazing doctor, saving lives. So, I use the gift that God has given me rather than being a wife and mother."

What would he say to that, I wonder. Or, to the nun who chose to serve God rather than be a wife and mother.

The Benedictine nuns don't. And they are more catholic than you or him.

Being a nun does not make one more Catholic than a layperson.

Your position is contrary to Catholic teaching.

? what is the nun's position that is counter to Catholic teaching?

Yes they are. I’m not Catholic at all. But I completely support his position.

Ok and many don't. Everyone is free to express their opinions, including those who don't agree with him.

He's a hypocrite, though. He's not "present" in his kids' lives. He's gone a lot for work.

I think the goal is to make it so that he is not free to express his opinions.

? he's free to express his opinion. Are others not free to express their opinions on his opinion? Another hypocrite.

Your position that the nuns are more Catholic than Butker or the PP you were responding to.

Well those nuns certainly have chosen a vocation that is more dedicated to serving God than his wife's.

Colin Kaepernick is an NFL player who was NOT free to express his opinions on wrongful and excessive police brutality. Weird how this double standard exists and is defended.

CK was conducting part of his activism while on the job and in uniform. Kind of a big difference, don’t you think?

Totally!

If he were as much of a heel as Harrison is, he would have gone up to police officers and insulted them to their faces as Harrison did to all the women graduating. He took a dump on their accomplishments in order to push them down. Kaepernick… knelt. And you felt called out.

Not “more Catholic” but they have a higher calling than being a wife and a mother.

Serving God is the highest calling.

His views are contrary to Catholic teachings at a Catholic college. So yes he is allowed to have his views. I know they are not Catholic views and I’d argue they are not conservative views either. They aren’t the conservative views by the definition of conservative. It’s alt-right religious fanatical views. Which he has the right to have.

I hate to break it to you but these are the same thing these days. I seriously don’t understand what rock you’ve had your head under.

You can’t change the definition of conservative because some lunatics call themselves conservatives.
