What lesson? |
The right wing extremists on this thread have no idea how far gone they are, or how bubbled. |
He was speaking at Benedictine College in Kansas. It is one of a handful of conservative Catholic colleges in the country. The kind of people and families that end up Benedictine question whether Notre Dame is actually Catholic or not. His message would be enthusiastically welcomed by an overwhelmingly majority of the people who were in attendance. |
Dp- and those people are trying to usurp power, and undermine democracy. No biggie! |
He and they are probably the type who pick and choose what they want to believe and read in the Bible. Otherwise he would've learned about the female prophets. I doubt they felt like their real lives began as soon as they got married and had kids. |
I am Catholic and these views are not representative of the vast majority of Catholics in the US. There is a growing extremist fringe. |
Not really. While that extreme does exist in the far right, the vast majority of Benedictine-type Catholics don’t advocate in favor of forceful overthrow of government. But you’re changing the topic. His talk was not unhinged or inappropriate for his audience any more than an avowed Maoist Marxist speaking at Oberlin in unhinged or inappropriate. |
What is your point? That they don’t believe in their faith correctly? Okay. You showed them. |
This. I’m also Catholic and not only are they not Catholic views they are against Jesus’s teachings. |
So this whole thread is a bunch of whacky lefty extremists whining about people they perceive as extremists on the other side. Total clown show. |
His views are not representative of most Catholics in this country. His views are firmly within the teaching of Catholic Church. His views are inline with or theologically understandable for most observant Catholics in this country. There isn’t a single bishop on the planet who would chastise him or correct him for the views he expressed in his speech. |
No. His views are not inline with Jesus’s teachings. Yes there are bishops who would disagree with him. |
It’s wacky and extremist to reject the blanket argument that women’s primary goal in life is to marry, have kids, and be a homemaker?? Wow. |
His views are inline with the teachings of the Catholic Church. While some bishops might disagree with him, none would chastise or correct him because he is firmly within the teachings of the Catholic Church. Where do you think he was out of line? |
