The Benedictine nuns don't. And they are more catholic than you or him.

Yes they are. I’m not Catholic at all. But I completely support his position.

Ok and many don't. Everyone is free to express their opinions, including those who don't agree with him.

He's a hypocrite, though. He's not "present" in his kids' lives. He's gone a lot for work.

I think the goal is to make it so that he is not free to express his opinions.

? he's free to express his opinion. Are others not free to express their opinions on his opinion? Another hypocrite.

Colin Kaepernick is an NFL player who was NOT free to express his opinions on wrongful and excessive police brutality. Weird how this double standard exists and is defended.

CK was conducting part of his activism while on the job and in uniform. Kind of a big difference, don’t you think?
Yep, he disrespected his uniform and city. Unauthorized use of the symbol (uniform). for political gain. Doesn't matter what you think he can do.

What he said is controversial because of the other crap going on that conservatives have pushed onto the rest of us.

He said it at a Catholic college. I'm curious if you think people should be allowed to have conservative views.

His views are contrary to Catholic teachings at a Catholic college. So yes he is allowed to have his views. I know they are not Catholic views and I’d argue they are not conservative views either. They aren’t the conservative views by the definition of conservative. It’s alt-right religious fanatical views. Which he has the right to have.

I hate to break it to you but these are the same thing these days. I seriously don’t understand what rock you’ve had your head under.

You can’t change the definition of conservative because some lunatics call themselves conservatives.

When conservatives tacitly or implicitly support him, you have to own him. He’s yours. One of you.

Yet many conventional conservative don’t and called him out… like the nuns.

You don’t own every lunatic who attaches themself to your ideals and then twists and turns them into a bid to be a pundit on Fox when he retires.

How do you know those nuns are "conservatives"? Do you think all Catholics are conservatives? No, they are not. Here's a nun who supports taxes to help pay for taking care of children. How very un-conservative of her.

LOL! Harrison Butker gets the last laugh. His tradwife must be thrilled.

Sources: Chiefs make Harrison Butker NFL's top-paid kicker

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs signed Harrison Butker to a contract extension that makes him the NFL's highest-paid kicker, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.

The extension is for four years and $25.6 million, with $17.75 million guaranteed, the sources said. At $6.4 million per year, Butker will make more than the previously highest-paid kickers, the Baltimore Ravens' Justin Tucker and Philadelphia Eagles' Jake Elliott, who both average $6 million on their contracts.

Or perhaps he is fortunate that he is arguably the best kicker in the league and the Chiefs know that any team would snatch him up.

Hard work and dedication pay off.

His address is hardly unhinged. He is speaking to graduates of a Catholic College as a Catholic himself.
I understand you don't agree with his beliefs... and there are some things he said that I don't fully agree with, but he is speaking based on his religious beliefs. And, he didn't call the people who use IDF and contraception "disordered."
He said that these things along with abortion, euthanasia, gender ideology stem from the pervasiveness of disorder.
Big difference.

I doubt you listened to his entire address because had you listened - you would hear that he has some hard words for his religion and some of the leaders of the Catholic Church.

He told any graduates who happened to be female that the main reason they were there was for their MRS degree.

Yup. This is why women are choosing the bear.

I think it’s more the threat of sexual violence that makes us choose the bear but greasy misogyny is sure an ugly look.

I keep seeing this “choosing the bear” thing and have no idea what it means. Can anyone fill me in?

Someone on TikTok (I think) asked multiple women if they were alone in a forest, would you rather run across a man or a bear? The vast majority chose bear. Which led to lots of discussion about why.

I've also seen affiliated videos - Wife asks husband the same question (about his daughter, IIRC), and he asks all sorts of stuff about what kind of bear, and how far is it from you, do the man or bear know you're there, who the man is, and so on. Then she asks what if the choice was between a woman and a bear, what would he choose, and without missing a beat, he said woman. That OMG look on his face... priceless.

Harrison Butker being good at his job and being paid accordingly has nothing to do with his reductive world view of women. Two things can be true at once. Good for him and really thank goodness for his wife.

-a 20-year SAHM who found his words inappropriate for the occasion and offensive

People hating on his speech need to understand that his very conservative Catholic stance is similar to the Orthodox Jew for Jewish people (heck even Amish have different levels). Now - was his speech appropriate? Well - it was for a very conservative private Catholic College. If you are a female going to that college you are likely already a very "traditional" and "conservative" catholic.

As a "modern" Catholic I remember going to Marriage Prep class (a requirement for getting married in the Catholic church) and when the talk of "contraception" came up we had to take it all with a grain of salt. Because you aren't supposed to use contraception - it's all about Family Planning -- The Catholic Church teaches that the primary purpose of sexual intercourse is procreation. Therefore, it prohibits the use of methods such as condoms, diaphragms, and birth control pills to prevent pregnancy. He also pushed the TLM - Traditional Latin Mass - something also very conservative churches follow. Catholic churches are sometimes run more conservative than others as well for that matter.

It's OK to be a SAHM or "tradwife" which is a trendy term now - heck if my husband made millions I would have loved to have been able to take a break and be a SAHM while my kids were in K-6 at least (or at least worked maybe PT).

Now - I pushed for my DD to go to college too and get a career and she is her own person now about to start her career. And she is admittedly even less religious than I was. That being said she has told me that she does not plan to go right back to work after having kids (as I did)...wants to be a SAHM for at least the first years. Something I didn't do but honestly could have although money would've been tighter. That's her choice and honestly has nothing to do with religion and being Catholic.

Here's the issue I have in today's world....WTF happened to Freedom of Religion??...combined with Freedom of Speech? Then we have Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), which makes it illegal to discriminate against a person on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity), or national origin.

So what happens when these "protected classes" conflict? Is any protected class more important than the other? NO!! Equal Rights, Equal Protection.
