+1 Lol, right? We have been sucking air indoors, in crowded cities, on planes, unmasked for years now. We’re fine. |
Fair enough. However, there have been multiple statements throughout this thread that vaccines generally do nothing to prevent transmission (not limited to the new vaccine). |
All the good traditional vaccines keep you from getting or spreading the disease and don’t turn your cells into spike protein factories. This is a crappy shot |
The most surprising statements about the vaccines come from the FDA itself in its authorization of Comirnaty and Spikevax: Indication for Comirnaty: "For active immunization to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)" https://www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/comirnaty Indication for Spikevax: "For active immunization to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)" https://www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/spikevax It is undeniable that neither Comirnaty nor Spikevax prevents covid; this was known as soon as the original covid vaccines were launched and breakthrough infections were seen immediately. Why does the FDA make these statements? |
It’s not a booster. It’s a new vaccine. And yes it does to some degree. |
Get Novavax, then. |
No, it doesn’t. |

Booster uptake remains low, even amongst the elderly. As of 12/24, 36% of US nursing home residents had taken the new booster. For nursing home staff, 8%.

I had COVID at the start of October so it's coming up on 3 months next week. At that point, I can get the booster right?
The main thing about the COVID boosters is that they do make me sick the next day (and my arm is sore for a full week) so to get one almost requires me to build my schedule around it. |
Well, you're obvious, at least. ![]() |
I get nasty vax reactions, too. And then I think "If the reaction to the shot is all of this, how bad would it be to actually get the disease?" Worth it, IMO. And before some anti-vax poster jumps in: I get nasty reactions to flu shots (which I get), and tetanus shots (which leave my arm immobile for days, and I still get those, too). |
*This. There is no excuse now. |
So breathe while indoors? Surely you jest. I never breathe when I am inside. Do you sleep and eat in a mask in your own home? Because if you ever take your mask off anywhere, include your own home, YOU ARE SUCKING AIR INDOORS. |
People invested in drama continue to post drama instead of acknowledging point, while calling others the drama. Typical DCUM. PP's point was basically "catch something", but you didn't even catch the point. |
