Against Robinson they just were flat and Robinson had the perfect game plan. Would have loved to see a Madison v Yorktown rematch as both fought together in two different games this year with each winning one. Stepping back, All of these 5 or 6 teams teams which are very good have some issues with chippiness of fans and coaches which is a larger issue and the reffing has gotten so inconsistent bc frankly many refs don’t want to deal with the behavior they see from a lot of these teams. I sat on Robinson sidelines and the comments coming from the students in stands to the Yorktown kids was just heinous. But in the semis my guess is that I don’t see Robinson keeping up with a very good Madison team with a tough and determinative FOGO which will basically determine the state champ. Good luck to these teams and keep it clean and sportsmanlike!

The Yorktown kids brought it on themselves.

Watching the games in NOVA this season, Madison and Robinson seem the best coached, by far. I have a younger kid in one of those programs and have been very impressed with overall coaching. Look forward to future.

Based on roster depth and early season play, seems that Yorktown should’ve gone farther in the playoffs, but as others have commented, they seem to get out coached by the other programs when it counts. Yorktown feel apart and looked disorganized in playoffs unlike earlier season play. LB had 4-5 really strong players but not much after that in their bench - hard to win with superstar players when it’s only a few.
Robo v Madison will be a good game - two of the best coaches and programs in the DMV. Are the players someone mentioned who were ejected from Robo this week eligible to play in the Madison game? Or, do they have to sit out? Anyone know?

Curious, how does fan in stands saying “heinous” remarks to players on the field become justified ever?
Not picking a team side - don’t care what team you speak about, your comment seems mean spirited here and adds no value.

How does Robinson host the game?

Both teams are regional 1 seeds, Robinson is on the upper half of the bracket so they get to host.

Cosby hosts Battlefield
Robinson hosts Madison

Not saying it is justified, or that I like it, or that I would tolerate my own kids behaving like either the Yorktown players or the Robinson fans. But Yorktown players chose to make themselves incredibly disliked in the lacrosse world, by their trash talking and unsportsmanlike play. When you treat people the way that’s they do, it is going to come back around.

I heard the Robo player is out because of the fight at the end of the Yorktown game.

Wow. Only two years away from winning the State title and the Yorktown coaches now can’t coach? Some of the posts on this forum are hilarious.

He is obviously a good coach but maybe the Marion and Robinson coaches were better….

End of the day he allows his players to behave like fools on the field and definitely on the sidelines which is a bad look period.

What's the take on Cosby/Battlefield?

I dont think anyone is saying, winning or losing makes good coaches. Look at how Yorktown players act, and have acted, for years. Not just in season, but out of season also. All of that is a direct reflection on the coaches and what is taught and tolerated. Who cares about "two years aways from a state title".

Have you watched any other games outside of the Fairfax County 6A landscape? There are some really good coaches in the area other then Madison and Robinson...

Hard to get a good read on it. Not many common opponents, but Freedom played Battlefield and Cosby back to back. Freedom lost to Battlefield 13-6 and Cosby 14-8. Could be a little closer than initially expected. Think Battlefield wins it by four or so. We will go with 11-7 Battlefield.

It's a Class 6 thread so I assume the PP was referring to Class 6 coaches, and Madison and Robinson coaches are definitely near the top. Of course there are other good coaches around, both in Class 6 and other classes. Riverside's coach probably has the best record over the last five years, Dominion's coach is doing really well also.

I’m confused about what Yorktown players do that is so upsetting compared to other teams.
