Short wrap up, mostly paraphrased. By now hopefully everyone knows who the following are. In one of the last Oval Office meetings, Rosen, Donahue, and Engel resorted to using Trump speak on Trump. Trump asked Rosen and Donahue what would happen if he replaced them with Jeff Clark (Environmental attorney). Donahue confirmed that within 72 hours or less, there would be hundreds of resignations from top justices to aides leaving him with no justice department.

Former assistant attorney general Steven Engel was the “turning point” that night when Trump asked him, Steve you wouldn’t leave would you? Engel said I’ve been with you through 4 AGs and 2 acting AGs, but I can’t be part of this. Look no one is gonna read this letter. All anyone is going to think is that you’ve gone through 2 acting AGs in 2 weeks until you found the environmental guy to sign this thing. The story’s not gonna be that the DOJ has found massive corruption that’s going to change the election. It’s gonna be the disaster of Jeff Clark. At that point, WH counsel Pat Cipollone said the letter is a murder suicide pact. Engel told Trump that Clark taking over as AG would be blowing himself up. He’d be leading a graveyard. It would be a grievous error for Trump.

Donahue and Cipollone credit Engel for the turning point and impactful moment. Trump asked Donahue if he planned to fire Clark. Donahue was like what the hell are you talking about, I’m not his boss, you are. Trump said well I’m not going to fire him.

And just like that, Trump called it off. Was this a game for him? Is he on meds for neuro issues? He has no clue what branches of government mean or the authority of the DOJ at all. He thinks all these people are his personal jesters. This man is childlike and manic. Holy efffing nut job.

I really don’t mean to be glib, but none of this is news. He thought he had become America’s king for life and he acted accordingly and with the blessing of the GOP for the entire four years of hell. Nothing is fixed. Some things may be fixed, but they had four years to break a lot and state level Republicans have broken a lot more since.

+1 This was known, it went on the entire time. It’s just one of the only times that people who tried to function under this system have actually told the truth about it.

This opening statement is giving me a tingle in ladytown.

I was only recapping yesterday’s hearing. When I said, and just like that, it was about that specific meeting. Agree with you that he he’s a life long psychotic. NYers always despised him and Giuliani (especially his 9/11 props). I’m not raising any Republicans to pedestal level. None of them are heroes, only cowards. We’ve never had a seat in the room of insanity before these hearings. The GOP in its entirety is more exposed than before. Gotta keep chipping away until they crumble. I have no doubt that Americans are taking heed solely from these hearings.

Ton of information and yet no arrest, now or prior. With all this evidence, they should have been able to arrest long ago

To arrest the former president of the United States?
Yeah. I’m gonna guess that they are gonna tread a little extra carefully.
His cult followers stormed the capitol and tried to overturn the government, when he WASN’T arrrested.
I sure hope law enforcement has their sh-t together before they bring charges.

There is absolutely no way he will be arrested, ever. It's not about him. It's about the office of the American presidency. We (the American people) aren't going to tarnish it that much. Also,I would imagine any trail with him in it would take years so he'd die first.

I also don't think we'd charge a living American president with anything other than treason or sedition and as horrible as all of this is, it's not really that. It's just King George trying to stay in power. Now, I also suspect there will be charges and trails and histories will be written. History will play out so that the supporters of old king george are horribly punished as a warning to others.

If there aren’t severe consequences for this, Trump or someone else is going to try it again.

It's the most interesting zoom room by far.
He's entertaining af.
Great accent.
Watch him on video and it feels like he's an actor and you're watching a fiction.

That said, I don't get the panda and shades of grey reference.

I know it's oxymoronic but listen to the latest "Ezra Klein Show" podcast from today. They kind of inspect this point around minute 50 or 40.

They've already taken steps in states to take the electoral college away from the people.
