Elrich if you prioritize school funding.
Floreen for everything else. Floreen will not prioritize school issues.

Neither one has much of a focus on upcounty. But that could change when they are elected.

Why? Isn't the budget passed by the Council, not the County Exec? I think the CE can recommend a funding amount, but the Council can raise or lower it and ultimately has the say. It seems to me that the CE is in a limited position to influence schools via funding. I feel like he has much more sway in other areas.

I know Elrich is tight with the teachers union. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I guess I lean towards bad if the unions make it harder to replace ineffective teachers. But I'm open to hearing why it's good. My understanding may be quite simplified.

Vote for Elhrich. He is progressive and is better for MoCo.

Floreen is trying to split the Democrats vote. If she wanted Democrats vote, she should have run as one in Primary. If you vote for her, you might get Ficker elected.

Nothing is going to get Ficker elected. He's a nutcase, and people know that.

I'm in Rockville, voting for Floreen.

That's what people said about Trump, before he was elected. A split between two conflicting Democratic groups elects the Republican. Floreen has no basis for Democrats to vote for her. She did not fight the primary is running the election with Developers PAC money. She would ruin whatever is left of MoCo, but more importantly she would the election to Ficker.

She is in the pocket of Developers - so watch out if she wins.

Yes, I like development. I like things being built. I don't want to live in a place where businesses and building are stopped.

Ficker -- most focus on upcounty since he's the only one who actually lives there (in Boyds).
Floreen -- is pro-development and roads, like the mid-county connect (M-83) which Elrich opposes. She's in the pocket of developers.
Elrich -- worst for up-county. His solution to all traffic problems in BRT (bus rapid transit), which isn't really viable upcounty given how spread out things are. He's in the pocket of unions.

I personally voted Ficker as I think we need change, but Floreen is a good choice also. Anyone but Elrich.

As for Ficker's chances as a Republican, in the last CoExec election in 2014, the Republican (Shalleck) got 33% of the vote to Legget's 66%. So if Ficker gets as many as Shalleck, and the Democat vote is split evenly between Elrich and Floreen, then Ficker has a decent chance. However, I think Floreen will scoop up a bunch of both Democrat and Republican voters, so that will bring Ficker's numbers down.

Vote anyone but Elrich then.

But do you want to live with the traffic, overcrowded schools, overtaxed public safety officials that can result without the proper infrastructure?

The population of MoCo, MD, and the US in general is growing. People need a place to live.

Elrich's anti-development stance is making house unaffordable by placing too many limits on supply.
