usually drops in nationwide averages in standardized testing correspond with an increasing number of test takers but:

"he decrease is notable because testing groups generally say that surges in test takers are likely to result in declines in average scores, as a wider cross-section of students is tested. That was not the case this year."

All four of the subject tests showed declines.

Data released by ACT also show a widening gap between the average scores of Asian Americans and everyone else. All racial and ethnic groups saw declines in their scores compared to the previous year, except for Asian Americans, who were already the top scoring group.

The math scores especially took a huge dip nationwide over the last few years.

I am sure there is a logical reason why the gap is widening. Or, at least, someone can make something up.

The only logical conclusion is that other groups are off doing more important things with their time -becoming pointy or well rounded or just plain fun to hang out with while Asian American kids are chained to their desks from the time they can sit up by their tiger parents. /s

The logical solution is to increase the Asian Tax for college admission. 150 points higher on the SAT should suffice.

I'm going to blame common core math, and the fact that my culture values putting extra money into sports vs. putting extra money into Kumn.

KumOn

Everyone knows that only the weak and desperate would go to Kumon. We, the real tiger parents, create our own enrichment! That way, we can funnel the money to violin lessons.
