Why will they be with the higher grade? Is the school cut off date that late, or are they pretty advanced in school?

It doesn’t make sense for any player to play up and be a sub if you ca be a starter in your own age group.

But players/families can do whatever they want.
Agree and most around here aren't allowing playing up unless you are a superstar.

Might as well play town/rec if you have no aspirations for playjng in college.

I agree with this from the view why pay all this money if your kid has no interest in playing in college. However if a kid wants to compete and their highest level possible then go do something else for college that’s alright also.

That being said your comment makes no sense based off what was being discussed?

Meaning if Aug birthday players intend to play in college they need to play on their correct grade in school team. If they dont college coaches and recruiters will ignore them.

All the BY September- December birth months college soccer players and current committed recruits are scratching their heads
As are the Jan- July recruits that got recruited while playing with half the age group in a grade down.

Again in BY trapped players are playing up.There are no other options.

In SY Aug/Sept and sometimes Nov qualify for the grade down team. If they choose to play on that team they will be ignored by college coaches when it comes time for recruiting. The easy solution is for Aug birthdays to play up on their correcr grade in school team.
In BY, Jan- Jul were playing in a grade below. Didn't hurt recruiting. Easy solution is to stay with facts, birthdays rather than something variable by state, school start ages which grades don't even have official documents to report to verification firms. College coaches said they aren't ignoring anyone, they don't care about age groups. Recruits have to seek out colleges.

What a web we weave when we aim to deceive

Yep everyone can see that clubs are going to play August / September birthdays on their grade in school team.

Age guy is going to kick and scream even when it happens. Trying to convince patents to play their kids down. When a few of the idiots that choose to play down describe the difficulties that had to go through for college recruiting nobody will pay down anymore.

It's really youth soccer that's leading this AND telling people recruiting will be OK in these rare situations. It set up the rules this way, knowing it wouldn't perfectly align.

The rules are 100% setup so Aug birthdays will play on their grade in school team.

And the rules are 100% setup so Aug birthdays can play in their age group. And anyone, not just Aug bdays can play up. Hopefully, it's because they are good enough and that makes sense soccerwise.

Theres no hopefully its better for Aug players to play on their grade in school team for college recruiting and its easier for clubs to manage because everyone on the team is the same grade in school so theres no 8th / 9th grade weirdness with high school soccer.
It's tough for for clubs to roster across age and grades than just age obviously. Especially without true grade documentation across thousands of school districts. And players have a better chance at college recruiting being a better player on age than an age group up with college coaches not caring what age group recruits are in. Players do 90% of finding colleges they want to attend and play for. Not realistic for clubs to find colleges for kids with all the different academic and geography options.

Keep reaching, clubs are already announcing that they plan to group by grade. Everyone will end up doing it because its easier for the club and better for the player when it comes to college recruiting.

You copy and paste well

But I think the people have had enough of your pot stirring nonsense

We all know the leagues go by month and year DOB
We also know how college recruiting works

If it needed kids on clubs grouped by school grade, recruiting wouldn't be happening today

Be gone

There is no "pot stirring nonsense" grouping Aug birthdays by grade 100% makes sense and 100% is allowed by the rules. On top of that its easier for clubs to manage and better for players when it comes time for college recruiting.
Forcing September or October kids to play up a year is possible, makes as much sense as forcing August kids up an age group but isn't happening either (except out of 2 clubs you out of thousands upon thousands.) Much more difficult for clubs to track grades which can change, has homeschooling and has no excepted documents. Clubs don't recruit players do and college coaches told clubs it doesn't matter what age group kids are in, they just want the best players that can get in their school and want to attend.

The big question is, is your club forcing that August girl to play up or does your DD have to find another team or does she lose minutes?

We really are pushing for mediocre kids to play up in age and lower team training levels just for school grade reasons?

Yes, get better and you can play on the correct grade in school A team.
Most clubs said very, very few get to play up. So they can stay on A team in their age group.

Not a problem unless your kid is a Sept kid blocked by this August kid playing on age. But then it would be your problem not the club's or the August kids problem to fix.

Yes, Sept kid, get better and win your spot back and then you can play on your age group's A team. No excuses because there is only one month of kids older than you.

Nobody said "very very few" if anyhting they said club discretion. Whats happening is clubs want all the control. They want the ability to roster Aug play players up with their correct grade in school team. But they also want to be able to say your kid has to play down if they dont have enough players.

Basically if a club tells you that your kid has to play on a team with players a grade younger than they are in school go to a different club.

Showcases will be grad year not just with ECNL but all large college recruitment showcases. Showcases will have an olders U16-19 with rules that will essentially let players play with their school grade.

So if that’s going to happen it would make sense for players to just play with their school grade because they will have to for showcases.
But if players want to play with age group for regular games and then switch for showcases that’s up to them.

Seems like more of a headache because who knows if the older team will have room on the roster.

in BY Jan to around Aug depending on when your schools cutoff is play on the correct grade in school team. Players born around Aug to Dec 31st depending on when the school cutoff is plays on a grade up team.

Once BY switches to SY Aug 1st to Dec birthdays will no longer be forced to play up a grade like they were in BY.

However depending on when your school district starts Aug and maybe Sept birthdays could go from playing on a grade up team in BY to a grade down team in SY. The way to address this is for Aug Sept birthdays to play up on their coreect grade in school team.

People with September to December kids are searching through all their notes and emails to see when their kid was ever forced to play outside their age group by a club or league

Can't find anything

Neither

School Grade isn't a part of club soccer

They have all been playing their calendar age group, except more physically mature and skilled players occasionally playing up a year.

School grade has 100% always been a part of club soccer because graduating year is the only way college coaches look at players.

Unless everyeone is doing showcases "just because".

False. Showcases now are by team and teams have multiple grades.

Ok, play your kid on a grade down team and watch college coaches ignore them yourself.

My kid is playing three grades down and getting recruited by colleges

Basically clubs don't want players playing up, been like that since the beginning of time. Basically clubs don't know or care about kids grades and don't have a system to verify the information to force them to play up which they don't want to do. Basically mind your own business, people can make their own decisions even if they work against your daughter.

Not a headache, clubs tend to pick the oldest kids for top teams and young for lower teams. Best chance for top team is playing on age. College coaches don't care your age group.

As you like to say, it's called reality. There is no perfect system with one grade unless you make it full GY.

Completely untrue...

SY with Aug birthdays playing up with their grade is almost like GY. The only players that arent allowed to roster are the very few school districts that start in July and the kids parents hold back in school so they're the biggest on sports teams. These kids cant play on the correct grade in school team. Everyone else can.

In youth soccer that often means the oldest on average.
