Hiding beer/wine/liquor bottles

If you regularly hide or hid bottles from your DH (who takes out the recycling bin), how did you hide empty bottles from him? My SAH DW clearly hides wine, beer and liquor bottles from me from time to time. She consumes these during the day or in the evenings when I am out of town on business trips.

I would just go for a drive while I was drinking and toss the empty out the window before I got home. My husband never knew the whole time we were married.

I only drank liquor so it wasn't as obvious as 4 cans of beer or a bottle of wine.

Just toss in one of those big green recycling things - they're basically at every gas station, school etc.

I don’t do this but if I were going to I’d mix it with the regular trash or recycling so it’s at the bottom and not in a glass only bin, or I’d take it with me and trash it away from home somewhere.

When I was a kid, I'd find and throw away empty beer and wine bottles which were in and behind the sofa a few times a week. When I was older, my brother told me he did the same thing. My alcoholic parent died from liver disease at a young age, but not before we were totally f*cked over because of the dysfunction.

I hope you realize your wife is an alcoholic and your children aren't safe in her care.

Does she only drink when you aren't around? Is there a reason she drinks during the day / feels she can't drink in front of you?

If you are out of town, doesn't she just recycle the bottles?

My BIL would hide his bottles in the basement b/f disposing of them. When he committed to being sober, he showed the stockpile of empties to my sister.

Tuck them in places he never went. My overnight bag, in the back of the China cabinet, etc. Then every few days, collect them and throw them away in a trash bin near the ballfield near the house.
