With Arlington, BRYC, and Loudoun, CCL offered some high level U15 - U18 teams. Enough to get some college attention - at least locally.

I am surprised BRYC did not get any DA teams (U12 - U14) like the other major northern VA clubs.

BRYC should have stayed in CCL but they canned it at the expense of the boys side. ECNL for boys in this area is non existent.

AGREED! We left BYRC this year and it's unfortunate because we liked our team. We looked at Vienna, FPYC, SYC, and eventually went with SYA

Same here. Would of considered staying if it wasnt for this. Wonder how their scrimmage league is going for pre U13 boys

and none of the players will go on to DA. This is just the A team of both clubs now being called 'da'.

This is a bit disingenuous. Many kids will continue on to play in DA but the very nature of cutting down the available teams in half is designed to take a large player pool and filter the pool. So yes, half the kids will not continue on playing in DA and it is designed to be that way.

Arlington and Loudoun have ulittle partially DA thats is affilitated with DC United. They play local teams. To call is DA is a slap in the face. Beat your chest all you want...it is what it is

As a PP patiently explained, Arlington and Loudoun have DA programs for certain age groups (U12-14). You can see them listed right here on the US Soccer DA webpage: http://www.ussoccerda.com/all-clubs. To call it DA is to be accurate.

We nearly moved to BRYC ..until we heard about the experiment and about boys going into ECNL. Really bummed because the training looks great ... I wish I knew how it was going too...

Not the same. NVSC left and joined CCL.

Gunson, Great falls and tidewater sharks are supposed to join VPL.

The Clubs have no DA after U14.

Look at the rosters for D.C. United DA--(the only MLS DA those Arlington or Loudoun Club pre-DA kids have available) and tell me how many graduates of last year 's Club U14 pre-DA have a spot. I know several that came from Clubs with no pre-DA and never played pre-DA. And, there are the inhouse pre-DA kids too.

It's certainly not 1/2 rosters worth from those 2 clubs, not even a quarter or less.

^^ meant "inhouse DC United pre-DA" that are just moving up within.

Every U14 DA at our CLub is back in travel as a U15 A team player (or lower) for the Club or they went to a different travel Club. I don't know any that made D.C. united' s U 15 (real) DA.

That's 26 kids pushing back down the kids that were promoted due to the upper team's movement into pre-DA.

It's eye-opening for those running around bragging about their 11-year old's Club pre-DA and the poor kids that will now be flushed out of the system by the return of the pre-DA players after the age out at U15.

+1

Parents are so busy hunting down bragging rights they fail to see the absurdity in this and the fact their kids would get better training/individual development elsewhere.

Have at it!

If they were U14s in last year's DA, they are '02s, so they would be U16s this year, whether in or out of the DA. Within the DA, the age groups are combined at U16/17 & U18/19, so that means 02s coming from Arl/Loud and trying to break into a DA team at BSC, DCU, or VDA, were competing for roster spots with 01s, as well as all of the existing 02s from those clubs.

If you are actually talking about current U15s then you are talking about 03s, who were on U13 DA teams last year. I know several of the Arl 03s were offered DA spots, and others left to go to other clubs. For the most part the only 03s who stayed were the ones who were already in Arl prior to the DA. Most of the others left.
