How to stop fantasizing about coworker?

Anonymous
I'm married (happily) but I have a new coworker who I am majorly attracted to. When he is close to me it's like electricity running through my body. I would never ever cheat, but am having fantasies that are quite distracting. I've been attracted to other men besides DH and it's faded over time, but the attraction has never been as strong as it is with this new coworker. Anyone else dealt with attraction like this? Any tips on how to stop fantasizing about him/ help the attraction pass so I can be less distracted? To reiterate - I love DH very much (married 7 years, no kids but trying), I still find him attractive, and I would never cheat.

Tough spot. Do you guys work closely? Does he flirt with you?

Yes, work harder and avoid him as much as possible.

You fantasize because you are unlikely to have him and that makes him an easy fixation. All the reality of a person without all the baggage of the real person. It’s a fantasy. Either know it for what it is and enjoy it or imagine being stuck with the real person and the real situation of being the office slut. The only problem that usually occurs when you start to publicly crush on someone who then thinks your gross and everyone laughs at you behind your back.

We don't work on the same projects, but it's a small office. I can tell he is attracted to me too, sometimes I'll catch him watching me, or he'll come stand right next to me when people are in a group.

You should be fine unless you find yourself flirting with each other, on a work trip or at a social function. Tread carefully with those bc this attraction you’re feeling will just ramp up

Is he married? Get your DH to knock you up and the other guy won't pay any attention to you.

You get closer to this guy, your husband finds out (even if it's just texting, flirting), he divorces you, the office guys runs away cause he just wanted a little fun and not all this drama. And here you are: single, back to dating market, a decade older and - chasing for a husband?
