NP—this woman has a lot of fat around her midsection where doctors will absolutely tell you that fat accumulated there contributes to cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc. it’s not a character judgment, just cold hard scientific fact. No one brought up skinny fat people or eating disordered people so why are you bringing them up? |
Regardless of that…she’s doing yoga. That is a healthy activity. But all you can see is an opportunity to shame. |
She's a full-figured gal! |
…because they are unhealthy but no one gives them crap about it. You’re curiously blind to it, in fact, “worrying” about fat people’s health and not giving a fig about the fact that a lot of thin people have seriously disordered eating or are skinny fat. And the cold hard scientific fact that people do not like to hear is that for some people, fat doesn’t budge. That doesn’t mean that they can’t eat healthy or have good cardiovascular health and love to exercise. No, for people like you, if they’re fat, they’re not healthy full stop and can never be. |
Is this a phrase from the 50’s? |
Throwing out some picture of a person posing in yoga position for a photo doesn’t mean healthy. A drugged out hippie could be posing in a yoga move and you would think, hey a least it’s healthy? Really? They could even say they are a yoga teacher focusing on the drugged out experience, but hey it must be healthy right? |
You didn't answer the question about your age, and you still sound like a teenager. I'm not in DC. And where I am, people are talking about this. It's coming. But it will take more deaths for it to happen, just like what happened with tobacco. |
Oh please! These lady made the cover to appeal to the 42% of adults in this country that are obese - so that they will buy what Cosmo is selling. It is a marketing gimmick. And no - you are not likely to find a skinny fat person. Good grief - you do get yourself health news from Cosmo! Marketers can do what the want - does not and will not change the fact that obesity is a huge health issue in this country. If Covid did not prove that to you - you can’t be educated. |
And you didn't answer the question of why you continue to insult me. |
You are, actually, pretty likely to find a skinny fat person. It’s about a quarter of all normal weight people. https://www.health.com/condition/obesity/5-signs-you-might-be-skinny-fat So now you can start judging all the skinny people you see, just in case their insides are sickly and cushioned with the most dangerous fat, visceral. |
But here you are, certain that she can’t be fat. Because you know. Based solely on her appearance, you know she’s unhealthy. You’re the one with the inside track and everyone else is fooling themselves. |
Why the splitting of hairs? Being FAT is UNHEALTHY. Check out the CDC website and the information it has regarding Covid and being fat. |
It’s not splitting hairs. Being fat does not inherently mean that someone is unhealthy. I know it would be convenient for fat shamers to think so, but it’s just not true. Are some fat people unhealthy? Yes. Are some scrawny people unhealthy? Resoundingly so! |
Awesome example of why we need the feds involved in nutrition standards, in spite of what the FREEDOM crowd says:
Outshine No Sugar Added Strawberry Fruit Ice Bars https://www.outshinesnacks.com/en/products/frozen-fruit-bars/no-sugar-added-strawberry Third ingredient? Sorbitol. Which is another word for sugar. Not that they intend to confuse people, of course. I'm all for people making their own food choices, but in order to do that, we need to have legit information. And we don't. |
Um…are you referring to the woman on the cover of Cosmo? Pretty sure she’s fat. |
