| I think they look like a happy family. Kate is gorgeous. |

"What is monarchy? From whence does it derive its sanction? What has been its gift to humanity? Monarchy is a survival of the tyranny imposed by the hand of greed and treachery upon the human race in the darkest and most ignorant days of our history. It derives its only sanction from the sword of the marauder, and the helplessness of the producer, and its gifts to humanity are unknown, save as they can be measured in the pernicious examples of triumphant and shameless iniquities.
Every class in society save royalty, and especially British royalty, has through some of its members contributed something to the elevation of the race. But neither in science, nor in art, nor in literature, nor in exploration, nor in mechanical invention, nor in humanising of laws, nor in any sphere of human activity has a representative of British royalty helped forward the moral, intellectual or material improvement of mankind. But that royal family has opposed every forward move, fought every reform, persecuted every patriot, and intrigued against every good cause. Slandering every friend of the people, it has befriended every oppressor. Eulogised today by misguided clerics, it has been notorious in history for the revolting nature of its crimes. Murder, treachery, adultery, incest, theft, perjury – every crime known to man has been committed by some one or other of the race of monarchs from whom King George is proud to trace his descent. We will not blame him for the crimes of his ancestors if he relinquishes the royal rights of his ancestors; but as long as he claims their rights, by virtue of descent, then, by virtue of descent, he must shoulder the responsibility for their crimes." James Connolly 1911 |
You only have to look back to Diana to know that this isn’t true. Being the mother of a king would mean getting to attend his coronation, but being locked out of every other royal privilege she currently enjoys. She would lose her titles and be at the mercy of William’s generosity for money. Everything he has was inherited so it’s not marital property. William would give her the bare minimum so they wouldn’t look bad to the public. And she would lose her security which was a big deal to Diana. And it was a big deal for Harry and Meghan too. |
This quote shows why Elizabeth is beloved. She broke the mold. |
I find George’s logoed sweater a bit déclassé. |
Sadly, her son and grandson do not. |

Aristocratic women have dumped both William and Harry. While they were happy to date them in private or have fun hookups with them, no one seemed to have wanted to be part of the circus that is being a working member of the royal family.
Kate was the only one who was besotted with him enough to want to put up with royal life and be docile enough to do as she is told and show up to engagements and cut ribbons. Meghan very obviously sought out Harry as she saw his famous family life as a way to self-promote and create a global brand that she came make money from. I don’t know if wills will divorce, but I definitely see Harry at 50, remarried to a younger random aristo chick and living the quiet country life he has presently run away from. |
I think it IS a commercial. It’s a perfectly lovely British family — filmed with the sensibilities of a Ralph Lauren ad. And it provides quite a contrast to the more dashing Harry and his biracial wife and kid. I think William has probably enjoyed being portrayed as “the good one.” I also think that the audience for this sort of stuff is limited and shrinking. I dislike it, but if it works, it will certainly seem like a savvy move on their part. |
You come off as a sycophant. |
It's pretty gross to to bring race into it and imply that William thinks he's "the good one" for having a white wife. There's no evidence for that at all. And I disagree - William, Kate, and the kids are pretty well-liked in the UK, and their family draws a lot of positive interest. I think that's definitely one reason why they've started releasing more photos of George, Charlotte, and Louis, and allowed them to be filmed in this video. And I (American WOC, btw) loved the video. |
I’m not sure why you, as as “American WOC” think that mentioning someone’s race is “gross”. That stance on your part may be leading you to make inferences that reflect your own assumptions. No one suggested that “William, Kate and the kids” are not “pretty well-liked”. It is curious though, that they have recently started releasing more pictures and the video — a change that you, yourself, pointed out. So let’s leave it at that, and each of us will continue to be free to draw our own conclusions, which may or may not have any actual accuracy. |
The kids have always drawn a lot of positive interest that’s clearly not the reason why they have been releasing more photos because that hasn’t changed. I also liked the video but I think we may be in the minority on that one. |

Charlotte looks so mature in that photo. I don’t think we’ve ever seen her hair down like that - at least I haven’t.
Cute kids. I like Kate’s pictures. I can’t wait to see Meghan’s daughter. William is bleh. |

I think the person who posted the photo here posted an even more edited version than the one that was released. Here's the one Harper's Bazaar posted.

Sorry, one more try.
