I mean they didn't have to do it at all if it was really about disruptions. The video wasn't needed. It's cheesy they being mocked for it and have come up with a lame excuse. |
It’s also ridiculous that it’s from so long ago. I’m a nobody in Bethesda and we take family photos a few times a year. It’s not that hard to set up the DSLR on a tripod and take a photo in the backyard. Will and Kate have an actual videographer on their full time staff so the idea that they didn’t have another opportunity rings hollow. Hiring the Corporate PR guy is just weird. It looks like a commercial. |
Bwahahaha. Double dare you, PP. |
Sure! As soon as I get paid from the whole country to smile and wave! And don’t forget the staff and property. If I had all that and still looked haggard then it would be pretty embarrassing! Agreed. |
Eh. They have a videographer on staff and they’ve released a wide range of professional photos of the kids that have happened since this (most notably the little ones birthday portrait, theq&a for that nature doc, etc). Plus it is a unique choice to have your kids in your wedding anniversary video to begin with. Not to say that it means anything but it certainly wasn’t because of the kiddos. |
Prince Phillip were together from an even younger age and he still cheated. So that really doesn’t mean anything. |

+100 Also Kate is a talented photographer herself. Just a weird choice. |
Agree that they will never divorce. But Kate has no power. Although people argue about whether her family has money or not, I think what people aren’t understanding is that in the UK class and money are not related the same way as they are in the US. If they got divorced Kate wouldn’t even be in the same social circle because her family isn’t a part of the peerage and her grandfather was a coal miner. William falling in love with an aristo chick is a real threat to Kate. |
Honey, pick up a book. As long as there has been a British monarchy there has been mistresses. I’d actually be curious to know the last royal marriage where there wasn’t one. Certainly not QEII or her parents or grandparents. |
I agree, but this didn't work out for him years ago. He seemed to very much want an aristo chick, but they looked at their options and decided they'd rather live privately and marry a billionaire's son or something than have to be in the public eye and working for the firm. I think it was almost inevitable they'd both go "common" for wives. All their rich, aristocratic girlfriends peaced out because they could easily afford to do so. |
While I think Kate's photography skills are way overblown., you are correct if they truly wanted to include the kids and not cause any disruption to them she could have taken the photos of them, she's supposedly done it before. |
These things are fluid, just because it hasn't happened in the past doesn't mean it couldn't happen in the future. Despite what he claims, and others claim on his behalf I think Will chose Kate because she wasn't an aristo, she and her family would be willing to put up with more, she'd be willing to be the SAHM and loving wife he wanted while he did whatever on the side. |
Does anyone even care about this though. By the time George becomes King, if he does he'll have a wife of his own who will be the talk of the town, we might get some Grandma Kate pictures and stories and yes she'll be mentioned in history, but I don't think this as big of a deal as some make it out to be. |

I think they are both average attractive, Kate slightly more than William. You can find a dozen UMC moms in DC and NE that look like here. William's "looks" as a teen were mostly hype and related to his eligible bachelor status.
If they divorce, Kate will be taken care of as long as she and her family behaves, and I think they would, no need for dramatics/ I also think William would make sure she was taken care of. Regarding the uptick in pictures of the kids and family stuff, it's expected they are the future of the monarchy. Yes, Charles will become King next, but there's nothing really to sell there. In general, the public eats up stuff about kids and family life it's a way to make the public become endeared to them and want to hold onto the monarchy a bit longer. |
