I remember reading something that Kate Middleton transferred to St. Andrews after it was announced that Prince William was attending the school. Anyone else? I googled but couldn't seem to find a source.

They met at a posh social club in London. His dog ran up to her, they connected -- end of story.

She has an actual job. In finance. Pippa and Kate like her - otherwise she would have never been allowed to vacation with the family in Mustique.

Once William's college plans were announced, a whole bunch of girls adjusted theirs. I remember reading something to that effect, with a side note that there was a great number of American girls in their midst. In fact, the article seemed to say that Kate and William bonded precisely because she didn't throw herself at him and behaved naturally when she was around him.

I'm not surprised. I bet James Matthew is financing a lot of the Middleton crap just like Uncle Middleton was while Pippa + Kate were growing up. And William bought the parents a house after the wedding.
