Oh man, if DCUM/Lacrosse isn't "that bad" then I'd really like to know about the other sites! |
|
Haha! Trust me--you really don't!

Legacy VLC Dad here - last time BW played VLC was with the 2018 team (I believe). I know for a fact the VLC staff sought out that game (b/c some kids who were already on the path to commit to a college left VLC because Trig sold them well). IL wrote that the game had the feel of a HS rivalry game with the physicality of it. VLC won that game by a few goals and I would pay good money to get the tape because it an instant classic. It'd be great to see them play again or see BW against any other local team (ML, VLC, TC, Cav, or Hammers). |
BW is a joke and non factor. You'll see in the latest club rankings (which are not always the best measure) https://www.usclublax.com/2020-rankings.html they don't show up ranked for 2021,22,23. Probably because they duck all the major tournaments. I can't understand the parents that buy what Trig is selling. With his history, I am surprised he is allowed around kids at all. |
| Aren't USCLUBLAX rankings compiled and run by Madlax? I feel like there's a conflict there...hahahaha |
|
I am not aware that MadLax has any role or any more pull than other program(s). In fact, i think that MadLax is frequently under-rated due to the fact that some people dislike the owner.
Ranking 7th grade teams (my son's age group) on a national basis is at best an inexact science, and at worst a bit of a joke, for obvious reasons. But it gives the boys and the parents something fun to talk about. The rankings that somebody posted on this forum yesterday, I believe, are the same rankings released in early 2020 and are not updated based on summer play. Either that, or they re-ranked all the teams and came out exactly the same. |
| My understanding is that US clublax and Madlax co sponsor certain events. But I’m not sure that actually influences the rankings. Madlax “juices” these rankings to a certain extent by playing certain tournaments as “nationals” and racking up wins. I’m not saying that is cheating, but for examples the 2021 ranking is highly influenced by wins at Naptown that occurred with a roster with many North Carolina and other players from Madlax affiliates that aren’t from the area. I’d be sort of like if DC Express combined with LI Express for tournaments as “Express Nationals” and then DC Express claimed a ranking based on that. Not completely the same because LI Express is much better than the Madlax affiliates. But makes the rankings a little apples to oranges in addition to all the other problems with the rankings. But I still think they are fun to look at and argue about. |
| DC Express is where it's at. Now you know! |
Madlax Capital 2021 did not combine with any other teams for the Naptown tournament or any other tournament this summer. The players from North Carolina were Madlax Capital players, and they went to every practice, every fall tournament, and every summer tournament. 2021 is the only Madlax age group that did not do a National team for the Naptown tournament. DC Express also pulls players from other areas, like the 2021 and 2022 kids from Richmond. |

So no one from Oregon? Which might be trivial.
They had a good summer. A team that still has a lot of (hungry) players to place. Kudos to the coaching staff for getting kids to practices in what will unfortunately go down as an * year. *Covid |
2 players from Oregon were added to the roster. Neither played much at all. |
So in theory, that was part of their National team, but since a couple of kids couldn’t make it. We’ll just call it the Capital team
|
| Madlax Marketing at its best... |
|
Wait, you had kids come all the way from Oregon and didn’t play them much?!?. During their last recruiting event?
Go VLC!! Madlax at its finest. Win the year no one cares. Hahahaha!!! |
| VLC iswhere it’s at! |
