Fairfax County GT/AAP Appeals.

Fcps cannot defend one kid admitted when another with similar stats was denied.

They should just post a min IQ score, like most school districts do. Still accept those based on GBRS, if the scores are low. Since it is not a GT. Parents can decide if they still want to submit if all scores are below cut off. It seems a lot of time is wasted wondering and stressing what IQ score is acceptable.

Took WIsc FSI of 126, GBRS of 12 and report is 4s.

Appealing, first time ever. What are the chances?

What are the WISC subscores?

I agree. 140 would be reasonable.

This is insanity. Thanks, FCPS!

It is recommended to do another test. The score most likely will not increase much.

That is embarrassing!

Are you sure about that?

Almost certainly. DD was in an AAP class of 34 last year. Also AAP is considered to be a form of special Ed. You're entitled if you qualify.

While you're at it, start saving $$ to sue every college who turns your kid down.

CogAT : 136
NNAT : 129
Gbrs : 11 In pool
But, Not found eligible.
For Appeal

WISC :

VCI : 130 : 98 percentile
PRI : 131 98 percentile
WMI : 132 98 percentile
PSI : 91(very low) : 27th percentile
FISQ : 128 -98 percentile Superior
GAI : 136 : 99 percentile Very Superior
I am worried about processing speed Index. How much of weightage is that for AAP process
Is it worth submitting these scores, Would it help or hurt. Appreciate your feedback

I would submit these scores. Has your child been evaluated for ADHD by any chance?

Thanks for your feedback. But, so far she has never been asked to be evaluated for ADHD. Personally, I feel its her nature to answer very slow.

I am no expert; just a parent of three kids with ADHD, all having wide disparities in PSI compared to the other scores, and two with wide disparities in Working Memory as well.
