It's so interesting that CNN and Co. keep interviewing Israeli military, politicians, academics, regular folk etc. but there hasn't been a single voice to articulate a Palestinian perspective. like not one. This is not journalism. Say what you want about Al Jazeera, they obviously have a pro Palestinian slant but at least they always invite an Israeli voice along with a Palestinian perspective.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question. Earlier there was some talk about how Israeli forces were not at the border, some segments were not patrolled, etc.

Is it known how/ why they were able to cross and take so many hostages? Where was the defense?

I don’t know the answer, but the attacks didn’t seem isolated. They were widespread.

It was Shabbat and an important Jewish holiday. I don’t know if that had an impact.

I can’t imagine any good Palestinian person volunteering to go on cnn to defend the Hamas attack or engage in whataboutism to justify an act of terror. And cnn obviously won’t bring Hamas sympathizers on tv. And why should they?

This is indefensible.

I think you might want to distinguish the past human rights abuses, land grab, etc. from what Hamas just did. They kidnapped women and children. They slaughtered a German tourist. Separate the past from the present and get on the right side of history.
