Why is the Latin style of soccer so dominant in the world cup tournaments?

Anonymous
It’s called Latin America because it’s the area of the Americas that was conquered by the Spaniards and the Spanish language was implemented onto the native population.

And wtf does this have to do with soccer?

Italy doesn't even play a "Latin" style, so this entire conversation is BS. Spain doesn't really either. Central America, Mexico, and some other South American countries do. Brazil is in their own category. Argentina was settled by a lot of Italians and has a strong influence of that style mixed with Latin.

They are all Latins.

"latins" is a word referring to people.

There is no such thing as "Latin" soccer. There is no such thing as "African" style of play or "Asian" style of play.

Each country has its own style. Some countries play a similar style. Carribean countries may play in a similar way, but Jamacia plays differently than Trinidad and Tobago, and El Salvador plays differently from Honduras.

The most successful soccer nations come from #1 Europe and #2 South America. It is typically the same countries from those continents with a few dark horses sneaking in sometimes.

A few other countries from north america, africa, and asia sometimes sneak in as dark horses, but overwhelmingly, the best players and best teams are in Europe and South America.

The most successful soccer nations are overwhelmingly Latin nations.

Ricardo, born in Latin America, he was still just as Latin as the France born Herve.

Hey, one more quick point...If there really were a single "dominant style" of football, then everyone would copy it.

There's not.

So clearly this thread is a stupidity contest.

My only question is who is winning.

I can play too.

I am a lawyer and today I wrote “pro se” and “in camera.”
Therefore I am Latin since I use Latin words.
Also, I am like Messi in that I am short and I used to take growth hormone.
Therefore I play soccer with a Latin style, which means I write XVII on my ball because my number is 17.

Also, I live near an aqueduct. Which makes me Brazilian since Brazilians are Latin and also agoraphobic which is definitely a Latin word.

Et tu, John Calipari, also a Latin soccer player because he is an American coach with an Italian name who once kicked a round ball into the air. My friend with Legionnaires’ disease nearly died but now the Latin fighting germs are burned into his soul just like his tattoo of Manchester which is a Latin city because Pep Guardiola lives there.

People with common sense who are reading this thread I have a question for you. Do you see why many people around the world dislike people from the USA?

When you say Latin, you really mean Latino in this day, not Italian or Spanish or Roman empire. Therefore, no, most of those teams on the list are not Latin teams.

Wait this is a FOREIGN troll thread?
That took an unexpected turn.
Clearly the OP was being obtuse but the old attacking the US agenda I didn’t expect.

Whatever you call them, I would go for any of those teams over England!

I would also take all of Europe between Romania and Portugal and the majority of South and Central America (does Canada count under OP's definition?) over any one country
