Guys without confidence or with fragile masculinity usually prefer short women

Are you a guy or a tall woman?

I'm the 5'8" female PP discussing the sex positions that are easier when you are tall.

I didn't like the height discrimination by insecure guys when I was in HS but I soon realized it was a great way to screen these type of guys out. I'm better off without them.

I also got a lot of "you're too smart to date" in HS so that was fun

I prefer short women. But also love tall women. And medium heighted women. I think there is a common theme here -- women, I like them. All of them.

Within 3-4" of my height and I'm 5'10". But in my younger days I did have a couple of GF's with killer bodies who were just over 5'.

Age 32, 6' 4", wife is 5'. Love my petite wife.

I know. It's the norm not the exception. Smaller women will always be more feminine.

If you're a tall woman you pretty much have to go with a taller man. If you are petite you pretty much have your pick. Tall and short men are going to be after the petite woman. Sorry, but it's been that way forever. Why parents were saddened when they ended up with a very tall daughter.

It’s not biology, it’s our societal beauty ideals. Part of that ideal involves, sorry to say it, a desire for women to be easier to control.

(But it is nice to never hear that I’m too tall for somebody)

I’m a normal height but you learn quick in middle school boys don’t like being shorter than a woman.

I can wear 4” heals and be taller than most men and I can tell they hate it.

Men are simple humans.

5’8” woman here and men under 6 feet may as well be invisible to me. Most of the time they don’t want to date me either so it works out. DH is 6’3” and would never date a short woman because he hates bending down to hear them in loud places, and didn’t want short children. Different strokes for different folks.

Bitter woman alert! In modern western societies, studies have found that women who are on the short side tend to have more children. Nothing to do with control, Karen!

I think that if we look at averages, men prefer women who are shorter than they are. Height is often coupled with a perception of strength and masculinity, and some men feel uncomfortable with the idea of women being stronger or taller than they are.

That said, there are always people who prefer one extreme or the other. My husband has unequivocally stated that my height was a definite plus for me in his books. He prefers short women, and he has claimed that while he knows we’re both going to change as we age, get fatter or thinner, get grey hair and wrinkles, etc., he’s really glad that I won’t get taller because that’s one of the things he really likes about a woman’s appearance: petite stature.

I am the 5' 9.5" woman who still weighs 129 lbs in middle age despite having four children. I have observed that, especially as we age, taller women seem to distribute their weight more favorably. Perhaps it is my slight frame relative to my height, but femininity has never been an issue, men have described me as "sexy" and "hot", and I often get asked if I was as dancer or ballerina in my youth, the epitome of feminine arts.

I’m attracted to women of all heights but I married a nice tall thin breeder
