Ha congrats, seriously! Sex as a parent isn’t easy but we gotta do what we gotta do.

Two talk parents don’t always make talk kids, just like two shorter people don’t always make short kids. There are other family factors. People don’t understand genes very well. |
You don’t understand genetics. Parents height doesn’t necessarily mean anything. |
| One person posted that his wife is 4'11 and 105 lbs. I once read that an ideal height to weight ratio for women is 5' and 105 lbs, and 5 lbs for every additional inch of height. So 5'1" at 110 lbs, 5'2" at 115 lbs, 5'3" at 120 lbs and so on and so forth. Another person posted that she is between 5'9" and 5'10" and weighs 129 lbs. Under the ideal height to weight ratio described above she should be closer to 152 lbs. So you can imagine that a woman like that might present as small though she is tall. In my experience men generally prefer women who are proportionately petite, no matter their height (within reason), that is a woman is built more like a lithe dancer than a basketball player. And then of course there are women with beautiful figures but faces that lack something. An appealing face can make up for all sorts of perceived body flaws. And a woman who exudes niceness, friendliness and/or confidence compensates for any advantages that stature may confer. |
Actually it is 100 lbs for 5 ft and then 5 lbs for every inch over/under. So the PP’s wife is 10 lbs over “ideal” |
This isnt set in stone. It is not like Planck constant or Speed of light. There is a lot of variation. |
Clearly there is a lot of variation, as the woman who posted previously saying she measures between 5"9" and 5'10" should weigh between 147 and 152 lbs., and yet she probably considers her weight of 129 lbs. 'ideal' for her. A tall woman at the ideal weight might appeal to some men as athletic or statuesque, whereas a tall woman 20 lbs. below the ideal weigh for her height might appeal others as 'yoga', 'dancer' or 'model' thin. |
| 1980s supermodel Christy Turlington was 5'10"and 123 lbs. (or less) during much of her career. Tall, yes, but no one would look at her and think 'big'. |
| I’m 5 ft 10 and like women 5 feet to 5 feet 6 max |
That makes sense. |
+1 Some short women carry genes for very tall sons. My brother is 6’1” married his 5’ wife, but her uncles were all 6’+. 2 sons :1 - 6’1” :2 - 6’5” and still growing at age 15. My brother and all of my uncles on my mother’s side were over 6’. I’m 5’6” and my husband is 5’8” and his brother was 6’. We only had one child, a girl but if we had a boy I would have bet $1000, he would have been 6’+. |
| I prefer short. 5’2-5’5 max. There’s something more sexy or feminine about them. I’m 6’1. |
Are you a guy or a tall woman? |
+1. I’m 5’3 and DH is 6’4. Our 3 sons are between 6’3 and 6’5. I feel like I’m surrounded by giants. |
I’m also 6’1 and I’m not a fan of too short. There’s something weird and too girlish under 5’5 or so when we’re paired together. Plus taller women carry weight better. |
