Why do people get jealous when others have plastic surgery?

lol what?!

I have never heard this, nor is it remotely true for people I know (and myself) who can afford it. Cosmetic surgery (not reconstructive) is quite obviously a sign of severe insecurity.

Wow calm down no one is accusing you of being poor, quick post your HHI if it’ll make you feel better

It is true however that rich women use money to slow aging through many methods including surgeries. Aging poorly makes you look low class.

Aging poorly often goes hand in hand with plastic surgery.

The opposite.

Those who have plastic surgery are the ones who are wearing sunscreen, good products, lasers, botox etc.

Those who dont take care of themselves dont usually get plastic surgery

I’ve never been jealous of plastic surgery victims - I feel only pity when I see people with character and beauty and uniqueness in their faces voluntarily turn them into generic plastic masks.

Plastic surgery is a fantastic thing when it is utilized to repair birth defects like cleft palates or damage from burns and other accidents.

I hate seeing it used to facilitate a patient’s body dysmorphia issues. I think what some plastic surgeons do in that vein should be criminal, honestly. But where neurotic people have money to burn there will always be snake oil salesmen happy to take that money.

Are these posts from marketers? Who would write something like this?!

NP here. My sister needs a revision rhinoplasty. Her nose is messed up from cheap surgery abroad. She will fix it but only for 5k or less. She says she would feel bad spending more on herself. She is now looking into going to Turkey.
I am opposite. I will not be cheap on my face. I am also having revision rhinoplasty and am paying 20k. She thinks I am frivolous. she said she can't imagine spending that kuchmon herself. I think she has low self esteem

Wait you and your sister both got nose jobs and they both went badly enough you both now need more surgery to fix them?

I need the backstory here.

This is exactly how I feel. It’s not jealousy. It’s more pity. I see it as a mental health issue, just like an eating disorder.

It is jealousy. I have wanted my nose done for a long time. DH thinks my nose is perfect and he is so cheap. I dont want to fight.
I have to hide botox and lasers. I wish I could do what I want. So hell yes, I am jealous when people are willing and able to spoil themselves like that.
DH also thinks tummy tucks mean you didn't work out hard enough...
It's a huge luxury.

The former generally is about people wanting to look normal, and how their body would normally, naturally look had they not been obese.

The latter is plain vanity rooted in insecurity and changing your natural self. If it makes you feel better, knock yourself out - but don't expect everyone to think you look better and *definitely* don't assume people are just jealous. That's absurd.

As opposed to getting braces, wearing makeup, or dyeing your hair to hide the greys?

Can’t wait to hear your explanation for why those things are all fine and normal but Botox is worthy of shame and judgement.

I doubt she would be the Billionairess that she is today.
People want to be as gorgeous as she is (due to cosmetic surgery) so they think if they purchase her beauty products they can look as perfect as she does which is so unrealistic.

In truth > they can only achieve her good looks is by having her surgeon 👨🏻‍⚕️ perform what they did on her to everyone else.

Your posts are so idiotic.
