tbh though, they traveled to Texas to play against competition they beat 6-0? Heck, they've gotten more competitive games around here lol.

No need to worry. Samba Boys got beat in their second game 1-4 by a team from New Jersey, which lost its first game 2-10. Tomorrow they will play the team that beat New Jersey team.

Wow, they bounced back and defeated that previously undefeated team 3-2... but despite three teams in the group winning twice and losing once, the Samba Boyz finished third in the group. No Bethesda match-up I guess.

I take that back... based on the point/seeding structure they could still make the top bracket as a wildcard.

damn you're really invested in this to be knee deep into all the rules and tie breakers.

Im not associated with either the club or team. I do think the way people are "marketing" them is setting them up for disaster in the end. As for the field issue Just be grateful the cops swing by to keep an eye out for anything wrong whether its for kids or anyone elses kids. Its not about well they get this and we only get this. Be grateful for anything you have because its more than what others get. In the end none of the kids currently in the SYC program will play for the national team. dont let the hype or the hate consume your life. without an acknowledgement or reaction the hype isn't there.

Although chances are slim with any player on which ever league its mentioned, you are IGNORANT for making such a blanket statement like that. Obviously your kid didn't make the team, or you are just on a B, C, or D team parent on some other league who whishes your kid was good. Haters will always hate.

And SYC's MLS Next teams get wiped out by the rest of MLS Next.

SYC 08 boys pretty impressive finish, only behind the MLS clubs. Another ignorant statement by a parent who has crappy kid.

Congrats Coach ST. Knows how to develop and get kids to win. How about EM's team, the U14? Scored five goals? All breakaways or free kicks?

Or at least knows how to recruit kids playing elsewhere to guest-play and win.

It’s obviously the coach himself, who has posted here before. No one else would know or care about brackets.

At least he can take some constructive criticism and changes it from Boyz.

Seriously, I cannot imagine feeling anything but happy for any of the kids going to Super Copa. Let them have fun and wish them well. And protect them from crazy parents and maniacal coaches who will turn on them the second they do not turn out the way they had imagined or hoped.

I must admit, after seeing them go down in the second game yesterday I for sure thought it was going to be a blow out today. Much respect for winning today. I'm sure others thought the same...so all those hater just got a pie thrown at their face. Need a wipe?

^-- no, just the same opportunity to use goals at Loisdale and Hayfield.

The samba boys must have really kicked your sons’ asses for there to be so much hate about a u9 team here. Not to mention the racist remarks. For the previous posts about the coach yelling—move your Twinkie boy to Rec then, if you can’t handle coaches who yell. You’ll find some there too. Looking forward to whenever the samba boys play you again. Remember that by u10, league scores are usually posted, so everyone will see how much they crushed you by. And yeah, I’m not a SYC or samba boys parent. Get a life!

Happy for the SYC boys. Good job coach. I don't want to hear anybody trying to label anti-SYC people as 'racist' when SYC is predominantly sexist.

Why not? Because they are in separate brackets or because they lost one already?

The brackets determine seeding for quarters, semis, finals. There are (or were, it's been a few years since I was there) 3 tiers after the seeding rounds. So there are 3 sets of quarters, 3 sets of semis, 3 sets of finals. If this team doesn't get enough points to advance to the top tier after seeding, and Bethesda does, then they won't play each other.

If that happens, Bethesda is confirmed as the better team.

Maybe. Or they ended up in the kiddie version of the bracket of death (bracket of ouchies maybe). The organizers try to make sure that teams from the same area are in different brackets so teams play teams they haven't played before, but it must be next to impossible to get even brackets. That said, yeah, based on this tournament whoever ends up in the higher bracket is the better team.

Just wanted to recognize you for an excellent line. This is a mostly ridiculous thread, but this was a quality post.

After reading all of the Samba boyz or boys drama I have just one question: A previous poster mentioned the fact that Bethesda has already played SYC during league play. Please, I must know what the score of that game was? Game in the fall or spring? pls enlighten me.

I don’t think that Bethesda’s top U9 team played SYC’s too U9 team this year.

So if others thought the same as you, they are haters?

Congrats to the BETHESDA YOUNG GENTLEMEN who actually won their bracket. no need to rely on others for a wild card spot. They went out and handled their business with no hoopla or fake promotional hype. But that what you expect if you compare the class act of Bethesda to the boyz from Springfield

The question is, why did they take so many guest players? Hahaha, the BETHESDA YOUNG GENTLEMEN couldn't play a national tournament with their regular kids? I guess if you can't beat SYC with the regular line up, you call up players from other clubs for a major tournament. By the way, the top SYC Samba Boyz beat Bethesda's top team 10-1. Good luck to both teams in the tournament though, the kids are not to blame for all the ignorant parents here.
