Very trendy in my town. I still really like it. |

I love Margo/Margot.
Susan is cute, but I love Suzanne. Carol, meh, but Caroline/Carolina I love. My mom's name was Kathleen. Lovely Irish name, Kitty is a common nickname as a PP said. Other "mom" names from my childhood -- Alice, Joan, Sonia, Eleanor, Frances/Franny, Lilian, Lenore |
I love Sonia and would have considered it for my DD if I didn't have a very good friend with that name. Also love Frances/Franny. Eleanor and Lilian have become very popular though, especially Eleanor. I honestly feel like all the "E" names are over done these days: Emma/Emily, Eleanor/Ellie, Evelyn/Evangeline/Eva. etc. |
| Recently met a little Martha (nn Marty) and thought that was adorable. |
Martha! That is a good one. I can imagine it being really cute on a little girl, too. Admittedly I don't love Marty but I bet it would grow on me. I struggle with liking a lot of nicknames at first, but once I associate them with a real person, I warm up to them. |
| I have a real soft spot for Dorothy nickname Dot. |
| I think Susan is great, esp. Susie as NN. I think many of these late Boomer/early Gen X names will be very popular in 10 years or so when they are the next wave of "grandma names". |
In favor of what? Britney and Amber? |
| I actually like the name Amber. |
| My grandmas went by Kitty and Dotty. |
I like Martha but if she grows up awkward or fat or ugly having that name just makes her row even longer to hoe. |
| Biff. |

My grandma's names were Opal & Rosalie. I've met a little Opal, & a little Agnes.
Jean, Margaret, Marie, Marian, Florence, Patricia, Pamela all seem timeless. Also Ezra, Joseph, Wynn, Merle, and Geoffrey from the same older generation. |
+1 Kayleigh Madison Chloe Khloe etc etc I don't see Susan or Mary etc being worse or less than at all. |
Seriously, I know three kid Ruby and two dog ruby. Ruby has jumped the shark. |
