Or maybe because he did not pay consultants to write and proof his papers. Varsity Blues baby. All the scum are in the top universities now. Asians should boycott Harvard.

I don't agree with the rest of your post, but if nearly no Asians applied to Harvard, because of the way racial balance in admissions works, the Asian acceptance rate would shoot sky high, the way it is at some top LACs.
what is the asian acceptance rate at what top LAC?

There are top LACs where the % of asians is below the general population, rendering them URMs. Look at the common data sets of them and find out which ones. You will get a benefit especially if ED.

What are these rates please and where. You are the one posting this. What is the data?

So you want me to do your homework for you?

Washington & Lee is one example, where it is only 3.7%

https://www.collegefactual.com/colleges/washington-and-lee-university/student-life/diversity/chart-ethnic-diversity.html

Next time ask nicely instead of tacitly accusing it is untrue and I'll help you with more. For now, though, you are on your own.

Call me crazy - but if this kid is such a genius - why did he not game this system and apply to washington and lee. Would he not have good chance of getting an acceptance?

W&L and other SLAC/LACs are not strong in STEM which is likely what this kid was targeting. If what you propose was a real strategy, W&L would be flooded with TJ kids and it is not. There are no "hidden secrets" in college admissions. Any arbitrage that one identifies is gone within a single admissions cycle.

It was proposed that asian males have an advantage at top LACs that's all.

They do and I was just explaining why.

There are a lot of non-asian males out there outraged that their applicant is unfairly disadvantaged. They have not started any threads about it yet I guess.

After watching this tiktok and the one posted by the girl who got into Cornell I have realized that Ivies take mediocre regular kids and not exceptional smart kids. This is supported by the 2 acceptances i recently came to know of. In both cases average kids, no test scores, 0 EC’s have been accepted to Ivy Leagues and yeah no legacy either. There is nothing special or extraordinary about these kids and I can say this because my kid knows them.

No demographic group is more obsessed with Ivy League schools than Asians. And I say that as a South Asian myself.

How much money do their parents have?

The US has never been a meritocracy, except for a couple decades after World War II.

Not sure about that. There is a lot of competition for "the most obsessed with Ivy League schools" award.

We are a close second to the rich, white folks. They don't trumpet their obsession as asians do and it also get drowned in their numbers (whites are the majority of the population and the rich among them are a fraction).

During Jim Crow? Interesting definition of meritocracy.

Sour grapes! Relax. If your child is as extraordinary as you seem to think, they will do well in life. Ivy is not everything.

The Ivies want their campus students to exemplify the perfect dinner party guests. “Over here a a fantastic artist, oh this person grew up black and poor so has fantastic stories about bootstrapping, over here-his father runs a hedge fund, this woman over here adopts orphans, this person started a business as a teen...”. It’s not about the smartest.

You know of 2 and you watched two tiktoks? That sounds like a perfect basis to make a snap judgment on!

What were the stats of the 2 kids you know of?

What? You don’t know exactly? Just guessing or you heard?

What about the Cornell acceptance tiktok? Did you look at her stats? No? Well you should have because she was qualified and talented.

Yes, I am making fun of you. Try going to an ivy campus and meeting some of the kids. Then come back and give an informed opinion.

He comes across as an arrogant, self-absorbed tool. I'd rather hang with someone else. Glad my school rejected him!

He's obviously bright and industrious and I'm sure will be successful no matter where he goes, but yes it really is sad.

Just a guess but maybe the Ivies checked his SM and decided having a smart-ass TikToker on campus isn’t a priority.
