Truly sad what this country has become. |
| It has never been a meriticracy. It has been a rich person's playground. |
Meritocracy is a mummy now. The brains were pulled out from the nostrils and put in an urn, long before you realized that Meritocracy died.

It's disgusting.
He's obviously bright and industrious and I'm sure will be successful no matter where he goes, but yes it really is sad. |
| This has been the case for several years now. My son with similar stats was also rejected from these schools! |
|
He applied to schools with single-digit acceptance rates. Those schools have thousands of flawless applications.
No one is owed an acceptance in a competitive admissions process. |
| No one has a right to a spot at a top private college. Or any college, for that matter. |
| maybe because he can’t spell Varsity? |
|
I dont get this. He is of course accepted to Penn State and Umd where he will likely kill it and ot scholly money.
And then 10 other schools on the list that are extremely difficult to access even for tip top students. Why did he not also apply to some in between these two groups? |
|
Everyone who applies to competitive, elite colleges has similar stats. It’s a crap shoot as to whether or not you get in.
You should try campaigning against legacy admissions if you think the college application process is truly a meritocracy. |
| Those top schools are all a lottery now with that many applicants and have been for a decade. |
|
I mean Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc....and he shrugs as if he cant believe he did not get accepted? Huh?
I see safeties and total reaches on his list and Zero in between and that was his choice. |
+1. Cute video, but them's the breaks. Welcome to life. |
That probably didn’t go over well at “Darthmouth” |
