Where are the painfully average kids getting into college?

My kid is far below these stats. I like to think they’ll still get into college. More like 3.2 and 1100.

The vast majority of colleges have nearly a 100% acceptance rate. Plenty of schools for your kid!

You must not live here. That is honestly kinda below average in the dc area.

The GPA may be average for public schools, where more A's are given. But for private schools, this GPA is very high.

The GPA may be average for public schools, where more A's are given. But for private schools, this GPA is very high.

What makes you think more As are given in public school? My high schooler has to fight for any As. Not easy at all.

My nephew says that only the dumb and/or badly behaved kids are in regular high school courses. Everyone else is in honors and AP courses and all of them get a grade bump.

1250 SAT is not "above average." I had that 20 years ago and I struggled to get into good schools. And it has become insanely competitive since then.
