Can I tell my teen her friends parents are Covidiots?

No wonder her child has no friends.

Dp here. No dog in this fight except to say that “Larla” and “Larlo” have been around for ages. Just means generic girl/generic boy.

We are pretty middle of the road - not locked in our basement.

But I really just want to tell my kid that her friends parents are morons. And both are in a high risk category.

Sure. They're probably making fun of you for overreacting too

This is hysterical. Go ahead, Larla's Mom. (btw your overuse o this name among these threads makes you really identifiable and annoying AF) They work in person?! How dare they have to work IN PERSON. Just because you are a bored, SAHM or teacher with no life, doesn't mean others that are mandated by their employers to work IN PERSON are idiots. Are you this out of touch or just stupid? The majority of people are working outside of their homes. Surely you see this when you are driving Larla around because you both are so neurotic you both are not invited to the parties, sleepovers, etc. you complain about.

Go ahead, have your DD lose what few friends she has left.

You probably don’t realize this but Larla is a made up name that someone used on DCUM probably 10 years ago and it’s the stand in for Jane Doe. Lots of people use it. It’s not just one weird person, there’s a back story. We can tell you’re a younger newcomer because of your use of “AF” which I also say too so I shouldn’t judge (I’m 38) but I thought you should know the history before you make incorrect assumptions. Larla isn’t used by one person, it’s a holdover used by many and just means “anonymous.”

Okay, crazy lady.....

She's crazy because she politely tried to tell you what you're too stupid to have figured out on your own? Hmm, ok.

This type of stuff goes beyond “different rules for different families”.

That's why fearful people like you should stay home. Life is going on. People are living their lives using rules put in place by the local governments, deal with it.

NP. We were starting not to worry as much but they are predicting 2,000 people DEAD per day by Christmas if numbers continue. That is twice as many as when things were at their worst in NY. It is something to consider.

My feeling this is a giant FU to "the left" and less about her kid. She posts rarely, she wanted to make a point. What is being accomplished? Her R friends all applauded the pictures, hearts everywhere. "A sense of normalcy" she writes. Normalcy until someone connected gets sick. Or dies, right?

She's a science teacher.

Because the SCIENCE says it's safe to have gatherings of 12 or less people. Yes, the left (YOU) are the weirdos you seeing wearing masks while driving alone in their cars.

The mask ting is so true. You just know they're a raving liberal when you see them in their cars alone 😷

Honestly this is me sometimes. Because I forget. It’s not for safety reasons or because I am a liberal or anything similar. Just something for you to consider when you see this.

I
I agree, It's the same poster you can tell by her writing style it is as annoying as her constant use of Larla.

EVERYONE ON DCUM USES THE NAMES LARLA AND LARLO!!!!!!

+1 Considering that Larla has enjoyed an existence on DCUM for over nine years now, it's definitely not the same one annoying poster using the name

We don’t do sleepovers. A pile of kids breathing on each other in the basement all night is a hard “no”.

But my kids play outdoor soccer on a team, ride bikes with friends, shoot hoops. We eat outdoors at restaurants, get haircuts, go to the dentist. One kid is hybrid learning.

We wear masks. Period.

I don't tell my HS DS that Larlo's parents are COVIDiots. I let the science do that.

Annoyed that I won't let you be driven in a carpool by your friend to socially distanced sports practice? Let's read what the CDC says about ride shares and see if there are any papers about COVID being transmitted by sharing a car ride.

Annoyed that I won't let you work out inside someone else's basement or the gym even though other kids are doing it? Let's see if there are any papers or guidance on that.

It only took reading a couple scientific papers together for DS to get the idea that I wasn't just making shit up to control his life. Added bonus - he knows how to read the literature and doesn't ask me to do dumb stuff any more, and often stops others around him from doing dumb stuff.
