We are pretty middle of the road - not locked in our basement.

But I really just want to tell my kid that her friends parents are morons. And both are in a high risk category.

This is hysterical. Go ahead, Larla's Mom. (btw your overuse o this name among these threads makes you really identifiable and annoying AF) They work in person?! How dare they have to work IN PERSON. Just because you are a bored, SAHM or teacher with no life, doesn't mean others that are mandated by their employers to work IN PERSON are idiots. Are you this out of touch or just stupid? The majority of people are working outside of their homes. Surely you see this when you are driving Larla around because you both are so neurotic you both are not invited to the parties, sleepovers, etc. you complain about.

Go ahead, have your DD lose what few friends she has left
.

PP, you sound unhinged. Are you always so angry?

This type of stuff goes beyond “different rules for different families”.

Same here. We def have not been locked in the house and are middle of the road. I have no hesitation telling my DC if someone is being an idiot with Covid.

You do realize, no one cares what you think. You will just come across as the "Karen" you are.

You do realize that nobody cares that you don't care and they absolutely could not care less how they "come across" to ignorant COVIDIOTs

Not to mention, the quoted poster is referring talking to their own kid about her friend's family's stupid behavior as an explanation of why the family is not associating with them, not broadcasting her opinion to other parents or standing a street corner with a sign.

We wear masks, but go everywhere that is open except large crowds. So when we eat indoors at restaurants, we are the first or the last people there. We have done this for 5 months now.

We also do doctors, haircuts, manicures, etc. But no graduation parties, weddings, funerals or other large gatherings inside or out where people mingle close together.

You are why we cannot return to school and why numbers are rising. You are teaching your kids to be selfish and not care about anyone else but yourself.

So by doing what she is legally allowed to do, PP is the reason we can’t return to school? Am I reading that right?

It's astonishing how many people still spout this nonsense. We are "legally allowed to do" all kinds of idiots things that intelligent people do not do during a pandemic, even when "waaahhhh, but DADDY SAID IT WAS OK!!!" Cool. Do whatever you want. Just stop whining about DL, because the collective selfishness of all these individual people who think that their own individual risk-taking is just fine, because it's just them, is driving the closure (and please don't come back with the tired "no, no, it's all big groups and weddings" nonsense, because we now know that's not the case and small group indoor gatherings are major drivers of spready).

Woah, somebody forgot to take their meds.
Did the OP strike a nerve, lol?

Take a xanax and try to calm down...

Humm... I would not call friend's parents idiots (unless I didn't like said friend anyway and was looking for a way to ditch that friendship). I would (and have) said something along the lines:

"They don't seem to care much about covid while rolling my eyes." And of course, keep my kids/myself away from these people besides the usual hand waving and talking form 10' away while unloading my car (I am clearly talking about neighbors here).

It seems that a number of parents find it perfectly fine to model passive aggressive behavior vs being direct about it.
An idiot is a word that exists for a reason. It describes a person with certain behavior. I'd rather teach my children to be direct and succinct.

I don't think you know what passive aggressive means. In any event, only in this area do parents support judging others and teaching their children to do the same. It's why this area continues to be full of nerdy, arrogant, elitist, clueless bigots. Go ahead, continue the cycle. Or, teach your kids not to judge others.

Why wouldn't you? I explained the details of how viruses work to my kid. He figured out for himself who is an idiot. This seems pretty clear.

Yep my six year old figured out that his grandma is a covidiot all on his own.

Following CDC and government guidelines doesn't make anyone an idiot. You, on the other hand, thinking you know more, certainly makes you one.
