Middle name for Grace

It’s often spelled Yeager in this country, and pronounced yay-gur. Not sure how OPs family pronounces it if it got anglicized to Jagger.

+2. Give the middle name some heft and meaning, particularly if Grace isn't a family name.

+3
and grace is SO feminine. I’d love it with a masculine or family middle name:
Grace Moms Maiden Name
Grace Maternal Fathers Name

Grace Elizabeth is as boring as you could possibly get and I do NOT care about creativity at all.

Something like

Grace Cooper Law
Grace Smithy Lundt
Grace Miller Lee

just sounds so balanced, somehow.

OP back again. I think you guys are right. Here are the two options:

Grace Jaeger (or Jagger as some in family have Americanized it)
Grace Albrecht

Thanks again!

Dp I wouldn't do Jagger or Jaeger because of Mick Jagger. You would ruin a perfectly good name, Grace and put it with Jaeger? Blech. I suppose Albrecht is the better of the two.

Grace Jagger Lange.

Great name! I love the juxtaposition of a sweet name like Grace with a hard masculine name like Jagger (preferred spelling). I’m guessing on your last single syllable last name obviously!

You wouldn’t believe what three generations in America did to my very French maiden name! I totally believe “yay-gut” became “jag-her” due to the spelling.

How about two simple names + two surnames?

Grace Marie Albrecht Law
Grace Ann Jaeger Lee

I sort of prefer Albrecht to Jaeger, but both are close enough that I'd consider the family connection. My DD has two family names (first and middle - one from each side of the family) and it kind of took me by surprise how much it meant to the families. We picked the names we liked best out of a list of family names, but knowing what I know now, I would have narrowed down the list to those we liked well enough, then picked which would be most impactful. Especially for a middle name!

Either way, I love the family name as a middle. True it won't be used often, but it takes the name up a notch IMO.

Yeah if you're a WASP! Try sticking in a long, hard to pronounce Polish or Italian name in there. Or Irish

Grace O'Conner Lombardi. Not so melodious as Grace Cooper Law!

Grace O'Conner Lombardi. Not so melodious as Grace Cooper Law!

My kid has my Polish last name as her middle. She likes it because it's her mom's name ... and doesn't have to deal with the hassle of people in the DC area having ZERO idea how to pronounce it. It's a middle name, it doesn't have to be melodious.
