No you don’t NEED to tip on anything. Tipping is personal choice, always |

I don't tip at all. as someone mentioned earlier, it is not my job to support a business's payroll. raise your prices to be able to provide your staff the appropriate wages.
I know too many restaurant owners who are loaded and can very easily increase their staff's wages I'd they wanted to. while they are out traveling to exotic locations, first class, I am supposed to subsidize their business? Nope. And for those businesses truly struggling, tipping isnt going to save you. |

My issue is not with the sit-down restaurants asking for tips on their carry-out orders. Obviously, people should tip at those places.
My issue is with all of the Subways, Mod Pizzas, Cavas, Chipotles, Panda Expresses, Mezehs, etc that are asking me to tip 15% or more. This is a relatively new phenomenon, and I dislike it. |
If they had to raise minimum, they are hoping customer tips help them get there. I don't tip in those places. i also don't visit them often enough to complain or notice that they are asking for tips. I tip in sit down restaurant where i drink my beer and enjoy my night. Also, please don't call in your food at the restaurant that doesn't do carry-out usually. I don't care if the boss says it's ok. He can go and package it for free then, and then tip everyone off of the sale price using the tip he never got because it was a carry out. Actually, he is not there to do it. He is somewhere traveling the world. |
