Jeff Cup Fall Kickoff Brackets Released

First, these teams already paid to do the 2020 JefCup, which was cancelled. The option now is not to do the kick off and have that money go to waste or do the kick-off even if the competition is not on the same level of JefCup. JefCup is not returning the entry fee. Second, kids have not played soccer since early March. Who knows when they will get the chance to play again or if this tournament will even taken place. Do you play now, even though the competition is not the same as JefCup or do you take your chances and reject the Kick off and wait until leagues start? DD's club is playing at the Kick off. The competition is actually pretty good and is spread out. Outside of Bethesda and JefCup, most tournaments would have similar placement.

So I don't understand the moronic comments. This is an opportunity to play against solid competition but no one is saying this is ECNL Nationals. This is a local tournament with strong local teams. .

Hahaha...have fun

Exactly.

Its a tournament to play. to get some field time. Possibly before everything is shut down all over again.

Odd endorsements for 'let's just stop doing Jefferson Cup if they don't give us back our money' but I'm on board.

Crazy parents living vicariously through their kids is one of the most irritating, annoying things about youth sports. Support your kids, encourage them, mentor them! But please do it for them, not yourself.

How are the COVID numbers in the Richmond area? Will the Fall Kickoff happen?

People who blurt out that parents are living vicariously through their kids is actually one of the most irritating and annoying things about youth sports. How many people do you honestly know that push their kid along and it's NOT for the the good of the kid? Like the kid hates practice and games but the parent threatens them to keep playing so they can tell others that their kid did this and that. People push their kids because they have high expectations. They want their kid to grind and learn those lessons. I can honestly say that a parent has never came up to me and bragged about their kid. Believe me that I know psycho soccer parents...I know parents who scream at their kid on the field. I know parents who made their kids run laps after games because they felt they didn't play hard enough. I know a parent who made their kid run through about 2 feet of snow after practice (part of the field was clear) because he felt they didn't train hard enough. I've seen countless parents make their kids cry after and DURING games. However, never do I think it's because the parent is living vicariously through the kid.

No schedules released. Wonder if this tournament happens?

The region with issues is Hampton Roads. Seven-day moving average is still trending downward and positivity rate is also trending downward.

Is anybody still in this?

I know. What’s going on with the site? If lacrosse parent has their kids out there...playing tournaments...why is soccer parent not demanding tournaments??

At this point our kid would be happy to play in any somewhat competitive series of games. So Jeff Cup kickoff will suffice. Don’t overthink this folks. It’s fun and exercise and competition.

So if a team from Hampton roads area goes to the tournament in Richmond, we should feel safe because of the trends in positivity rate among those who get tested?

The fall kickoff is in less than 10 days. Is a schedule ever going to be released?
