How to avoid discussions when you have unpopular opinions?

Be as neutral as possible without being apologetic. Don't come off like you prepared for a debate about the issue. But what happens if other people allow TV on a playdate (before pandemic)? Do you turn them down?

NP here. Do parents really turn on the TV for a 3 yr old’s play date? Why even bother with the play date - just stay home and watch tv.

Op, don't overshare. DH has a habit of over-sharing and I'm always reminding him that he doesn't have to explain himself to other people and that he doesn't need to share any info beyond what's absolutely necessary, even with friends. Respond in a respectful manner and move on. You can tell people to take their judgy attitude some place else.
