ACT June Status?

Anonymous
I was able to connect with the ACT office yesterday after being on hold for about 45 mins. They confirmed that St. Francis in Baltimore is still offering the test. They recommend that students arrive by 7.45 am as doors will be locked at 8 am and no one will be allowed to enter. We might have DS and DH spend the night at a hotel in Baltimore so they are not getting up at 6 am and rushing to get there by 7.30 latest.

Did you move the test site on the phone with ACT or did your DS's ticket change online automatically?

Make sure you check the website before you go. I still have a ticket for June ACT and have not received an email that it’s been cancelled. The cancellation is on the ACT website though.

ACT just added June 20 rescheduled test centers to their site. None in our area so far but you never know...

We just found out that St. Francis has been cancelled as a test center. Apparently, ACT sent too many kids to them and they went over the 100 person limit allowed by MD. The St. Francis administrators cancelled the location because they can get into trouble for going over capacity.

Confused. You mean they will take the exam not on June 13th, but June 20th?

Did ACT send you an email about this?

If your child’s test center has changed, does their ticket reflect the change (or is the old site listed)?

ACT needs to cancel the June test right now. At this point, only a fraction appear to be able to take it, which isn't equitable. It wouldn't hurt for the schools to stop this nonsense by stating that tests are not required for the class of 2021. At this point, kids likely will only have one option to take the test, which stinks, and some may have to study for five extra weeks when they were prepared to take it in April. It's causing so much additional stress, during a stressful time.

A friends son got the cancellation email. I called St. Francis and the administrator said he cancelled the exam when he saw the number of kids that were scheduled to take it at the location. He had told ACT he only had capacity for about 100 students and the ACT put more than that number at the location. The school informed the ACT this morning that they would have to cancel the test location as otherwise they would be over the test limit.

Sorry I hit send too soon. The child's ticket still lists St. Francis but when we got through to ACT, the customer representative said that he did not have updated information for St. Francis at this time. Their system is under maintenance for updates. But the administrator at St. Francis was quite clear when I spoke to him.

St. Francis now shows up as a cancelled test site What a mess.

I'm a PP on this thread. Was moved from FCPS to Wilson, but never got an email about cancellation... Until now!

We finally got an email notification today (2 days before the exam) of the cancellation. Honestly, it's a relief that I can stop checking to see if we've been reassigned somewhere!

We got an email today too. Two days before the test. Is ANYONE actually taking it?

But many 2021 students already took it prior to March closings.

At this point, unless a college is truly “test blind”, they may opt to go test optional which means kids who have a decent score prior to March will be in the drivers seat.
