Your assumption is you believe that a patch is what develops your kid. If your kid isn’t on a Champions League level team she is a mid major level player at best. Sorry but the patch isn’t getting your kid in front of Anson Dorrance. |
Not moving the goalposts. Ex-DA clubs have a league. The best league. GAL! They don’t need ECNL. |
Kids outside the champions league don’t go power 5? |
Not many P5 schools hit games outside of the Champion's League. |
No, ex DA clubs have a league that remains mostly the same as last year with more family friendly rules to match ECNL. That is it. Your kid has a team and league to play in and ex DA kids have a team and league to play in now. Why does that bother you? |
Im sorry you must be mistaken my interest or intent with some other parent thinking their kid is going to play for UNC because they have a patch of DA or ECNL. Personally I would rather my kid not play college Div 1 soccer so your whole argument has no meaning. I didnt take her to Arlington DA for a patch. Her ability and their interest in her led her there. Now that its over its not particularly important to me that she has an ECNL or a GAL patch at all. She will start wherever she goes, that I know. What it leads to in college I could care less. |
What is over? |
You didn’t go to Arlington to chase a patch but you are going to leave Arlington because their patch changed? |
|
with that rationale in mind would you have stayed at Arlington if they didnt go GAL but instead went CCL?
Your argument tells me you would have stayed yet I know better, youd have chased your way to an ecnl club as fast as you could. |
It does not. It’s good your DD still has a league and a team. My question is Why is national league excluded from the list of clubs that ECNL should’ve “done the right thing for” and let into ecnl? They’re also a nationwide league and didn’t try to put the ecnl out of business. |
You are misinformed honey. |
Ok, 12 out of 18 kids on Champion league kids go P5 while 2 out of 18 kids on lower tier teams go P5. I am owned sweetie. |
And the answer was that National League is still a thing, but DA was no more. Yes, there is GA now, but there was, for a time, a vacuum left by US Soccer that ECNL could have chosen to fill very simply by adding the former DA clubs. End of story, ECNL becomes the undisputed king of "elite" and everybody wins. Now, the waters are still muddy, with many clubs and kids choosing to stay with their teams in a competing league. In any case, National League teams still have a home and didn't have their league wrecked by US Soccer. There's no overriding reason they would or should have been considered for addition to ECNL in bulk. |
That is a question you should ask USYS. If GAL was under the USYS umbrella then their clubs could easily be integrated into a hierarchy. But as it is I’m sure if any clubs in USYS would like to join GAL there is nothing stopping them from doing so. |
So wrong. First off, 90% of the recruiting is done in showcases before the standings and champions cup berths become solidified. Secondly, scouts recruit players not teams. Not every stud is on a superstar team. |
