Friday not Thursday all via email.

The website states.....notification on February 27th

When my daughter was admitted two years ago there was a letter that was postmarked on the Thursday and arrived on Saturday. The letter contained the status of admission, in our case accepted, and it also had merit scholarship info. In addition there was an email on the Friday after 3pm. You only received an email if you were admitted and it basically said congratulations and acceptance packets have been mailed. The emails may have been in batches but I think by a certain time, maybe it was 7pm, if you did not have an email that likely meant there wasn’t good news and you were waiting to get the letter.

The school for those who can't get into their 1st and 2nd choices.

Re: Outcomes

How is SJC’s median ACT and SAT vis a vis big 3 and very top area publics?

Well below. Far below.

What a horrible thing to say about a school that many kids are excited to attend, and from which many kids go on to achieve success at a number of good colleges. Are you always so insulting to other people's children?

Isn't the outcome the schools the students are accepted to and given scholarship/merit aid? There are plenty of kids with high test scores getting denied at top universities.

Incredibly uniformed post. Outstanding academic offerings at SJC--along with great sports, strong school spirit, nice facilities and nice NW DC location.

I like the way it was dressed as well.

Sick burn.

For those who have talent beyond doing homework. Too many socially awkward kids being produced at Big 3. Children need to be well rounded and have the keen ability to function and contribute to society.

If you take the top 75 students and compare them to the top 75 at a Big 3... the same.

But SJC has a program for kids with learning disabilities so the median would be meaningless.

Also why test prep for SAT if you are already committed to a college and accepted. Most athletes that the SAT once, send it to a coach... he says looks good, not test prep.

I would love to see the test scores of Big 3 students without any test prep. The world will never know.

Test prep isn’t magic. The kids who score the best GENERALLY have had 12 years of quality education, read in their free time...plus good genetics.

Then why do they test prep?

SAT ranking is not an indication of quality education. You have scholars like Einstein, Steve Jobbs, and etc who all bombed on any standardized testing.

It is indisputable that applications are through the roof and it has become quite competitive. My older kid is going there and I'm getting a lot of questions about the school from 8th grade parents. I don't remember this much interest 3-4 years ago. It seems like a lot of girls view it as co-ed alternative to independent Catholic girls schools. I think most of the new interest is on the girls side.

As long as it is indisputable, I'm good with that.
