What does shanked mean? |
No. Do you have any other questions? |
It’s another way of saying “I’m terrified of Black people, and I’ve never been within a half mile of Wilson.” You’ll see lots of posts like this on DCUM, particularly in the DCPS forum. People who have never set foot inside the school post weird, made-up, racist fantasies about it. It’s kinda creepy. My kid attended Wilson for 4 years. Never got in a fight, never had any issues at all. Now going to a great, highly selective college. SJC also seems great - my kid’s team played them every year, and my kid used to work out with the SJC coaches. Nice people, and the parents I’ve met are all lovely. I don’t think creepy PP is an SJC parent. |
It means getting stabbed |
To the PP, who called me a racist, instead of ad hominem attacks, face the truth outlined below because it IS why many DC Parents pay for Private: https://dcist.com/story/16/04/25/student-stabbed-on-the-way-to-wilso/ https://alleyesondc.com/2015/12/08/wilson-post-gun-reax/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/swastika-discovered-in-restroom-of-woodrow-wilson-high-school/2019/12/19/dae5ef14-228c-11ea-bed5-880264cc91a9_story.html and its been that way for decades: https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1989/01/27/4-wounded-in-gunfire-at-wilson-high/fe7606be-6f21-4644-84b8-b7b403acbcf2/ |
She said it was too crowded. The boys were rowdy during lunch. She's going to an all girls school. SJC was a safety school. I am flattered you recall my previous post. Glad it made such an impression. I have the letter with the scholarship...I can post here if you don't believe me. |
Why are you saving the letter? |
NP What an odd question. People save all kinds of stuff. I applied to grad school at NYU. Was granted an interview. Went, and walked out on the interviewer because he was such an asshole and I thought “I will NEVER go here.” Two weeks later I got a letter that said “since you never showed for your interview we are withdrawing your application.” Two weeks after that I got an acceptance letter. That was 20 years ago. I still have the letters. |
Why would the PP save a letter from a school she obviously has such contempt for? Why are you saving letters from a school whose representative you disliked so much? Look forward, not backward. |
We have a pile of all the stuff we received from all the schools. They will eventually go in the recycle bin, but it's just sitting there. Would you like to see the letter? |
With your older kid you didn't like the school due to the teachers at the Scholars brunch. You second kid didn't like her shadow day yet you still had her apply and have saved the Scholars letter. What in the sam hell is going on here? Oh I know. You are oddly obsessed with talking bad about SJC. All girls sounds perfect for your child. I am sure you will be happy with her being there. |
I’m not sure why this affects you so much. I will periodically clean stuff out and find the NYU letters and laugh. Keeps me entertained, if nothing else. “Look forward, not back.” Have you no appreciation for history? |
It’s sad how hard you’re trying here. You post articles from 6 and 7 years ago (one about a student being stabbed ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL), along with a 3 year old article about graffiti. Like most racists, your pathetic attempts to justify your racism just further reveal what an odious person you are. Maybe take some time to reflect on why you feel compelled to troll the internet for articles to support your disdain for a school you’ve never stepped inside. |
NP. It is odd you save grad school admissions letters. This isn’t an “appreciation for history” it is called hoarding. |
I’m going to play PPs game of trolling the internet for decades old news as a way of justifying my prejudices. Here’s why so many public school parents would never send their kid to SJC: As about 5O horrified students scattered for safety, a young man wearing a hood and surgical mask yesterday shot and seriously injured the business manager of St. John's College High School in northwest Washington during a robbery attempt in the school cafeteria, District police https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/local/1977/11/19/masked-thief-wounds-two-at-st-johns-high/c971fe5e-a192-4316-b57f-355139bda061/ See — “it’s been that way for DECADES.” |
