OMG yes. Same!

I was 18 & he was 21, and new what he was doing (and very kind). But those bangin body days are relatively short in the grand scheme of life.

I was 17. Turned out fine. Wish I discovered it sooner if i weren’t such a prude, but no younger than maybe 15.

I have a friend that had sex at 15 and although she doesn't really regret it, in hindsight she says she wasn't mature enough to handle the emotional aspects of sex, relationships, and break ups at that age.

Funny... I want my boys that the last semester of senior year and the summer before college is full o f girls that do not want to go to c college as virgins.

It's like shooting fish in a bucket.

So here's my question -- how did your experience in high school (whether you had sex or didn't) influence how you address (or will) the issue with your kids?

I didn’t have sex in HS. I was a freshman in college. I will just encourage my kid to do it with a boyfriend/partner instead of a hook-up. I had plenty of hook ups that were enjoyable and liberating, but I was older. In high school, it should be with someone you trust, who is respectful toward you, and who has made a commitment toward you.

So disgusting how you all are romanticizing this. Are you going to think it’s ok when your 15 year old says they are sexually active? This lack of morals is astounding

Liberal

Many don't think it's immoral to have consensual sex.

What age do you think is okay?

As long as the 15 year old is being safe and doing it with someone in a committed relationship and its totally consensual, I'd be okay with it.

Lack of morals? I think its immoral to tell kids to not have sex and the deny when they do...

If I had daughters, I'd tell them not to bother with guys who don't do oral.

I was 17 and it was witha guy who loved me. My first time was in a bed, not a car, and we did some loving, adventurous stuff. He was a great first partner. Most of the guys I dated in college were dbags so I am glad I lost it with him. No regrets whatsoever.

+1. My parents didn't love it that I had sex as a teenager, but they were smart enough to get me on birth control as soon as they suspected and we had plenty of talks about using condoms on top of it (I did, every single time until DH and I were engaged). My dad left "his" condoms in the upstairs closet and my brother helped himself to them for years. As young adults, we found out Dad had had a vasectomy when we were both toddlers. My college roommate's very religious parents told her that premarital sex was for sinners and immoral women. Guess which one of us got herpes and pregnant freshman year?

You are the reason I left religion. Consensual sex is not immoral.

Teens have been having sex since the beginning of time.
